Your guide will meet you at Sa Jin Qiao Metro Stop Exit B (洒金桥地铁站B口), Line 1. The morning class meeting time is 9am, afternoon class is 2pm, evening class is 5pm.
During this 3-4 hours unique cooking workshop, you’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it with fun challenges to complete and learn different species of Chinese spices and ingredients that will be used in the following cooking class. The class will be carried out in a traditional Chinese Chef's home. You’ll be treated with local tea as it’s local’s custom to treat friends and visitors. After that, you then will be guided to start the cooking process by a professional chef. Finally, you can enjoy the dishes made by yourself along with some beers or beverages. For it’s really informative, interesting and fun, this class will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime.

Fun way to spend a morning
Fun class that was guided by Michael who was very thorough in his explanation of steps to prepare our noodles/meal. It was just 2 of us in class so we had his full attention. A walk through the markets was fun and the spice store was a highlight. Our only hiccup was meeting up. It took us a while to connect but once we did our tour proceeded well. Michael had good follow up as well.

Fantastic cooking class and noodle experience :)
Fantastic experience. Our guide was so fantastic at translating. She was able to tell us about the culture of Xian, the way the "Biang" character is written, as well as the techniques to make the noodles. The chef was so personable and easy to follow when cooking, even if we didn't speak the same languages. Even when we made mistakes, they both were able to set us right, and we all had a laugh about it too.
The walk through the market was wonderful, she showed and bought us so much local food and we explored the atmosphere in the market as well.
We were together with another couple we had never met, but all got along well. There was enough room in the kitchen for us all to knead the dough for the noodles and cook too - not crowded in the kitchen at all. It was interesting to share cooking experiences between all 6 of us (two couples, the guide, and the chef) from all over the world.
Although they mentioned that it was 2-3 hours, we spent about 4 hours there eating the noodles and chatting at the end as well. Well worth the money; I would reccommend to anyone!

A delicious cooking experience
We had an amazing experience with Fiona, who taught us all about the difference spices and their use both in the cuisine and for the traditional Chinese medicine, answering all of our question with kindness and knowledge. We also had a chance to taste some delicious typical dishes from a local market and she gave us tips on how to distinguish tourist places from the more authentic ones.
Then we headed to the kitchen where we had a delightful class with the amazing chef Lily, who patiently taught us how to prepare dumplings from the filling to the folding -and it is much harder then you expect- but at the end it is very satisfying to taste the food that you prepared (almost) on your own.
To sum it up, a very nice and insightful experience where you get to learn a bit more about the Chinese food and culture directly from the locals. Definitely worth it!

Fantastic and fun experience
We loved the experience. From the spice market, we have enjoyed a lot, and the class was very easy to follow, always very entertaining, and we found the final result delicious. Both our guide Fiona and the cook were very attentive and dedicated to us; we were able to learn a lot about Chinese culinary culture and many recipes.

Must do when in Xi'An
I've tried to make biang biang noodles at home, but always had problems with the technique, so I booked this class while in Xi'An.
The class started with a nearby market tour and we went to the kitchen after. Everything was prepared for the class and the kitchen is well equipped and super clean.
Michael is a very nice guy, he explained and showed everything to me. The biang biang noodles were one of the best I had and I actually managed to make them myslef :) The class is a hand-on experience and you cook all the dishes yourself, which I like.
We also prepared a starter (very good one!) and had some tea and beer.
Even though I was the only person in the class (I booked a group tour), they didn't cancel - I really appreciate that.
When I go back to Xi'An in a bigger group, we will definately attend the class.

Fantastic experience with an excellent host
Michael, our host and teacher, took our group for a tour of the markets, teaching us about various spices and ingredients. The cooking class was very well conducted and I am excited to try out Noodle making at home!

Amazing experience and delicious Biang Biang noodles!
The Biang Biang noodle class and market visit was an incredible experience. Michael was very friendly and walked us through the market to collect the ingredients for the Biang Biang noodles. The number of spices on offer was amazing! It was very fun making the noodles from scratch and Michael's expert guidance has inspired us to try this recipe back in Australia when we are home!

Fun & delicious
Michael was a fantastic host and instructor. It was wonderful to learn how to make Biang Biang noodles and enjoy them afterwards. What a fun experience! Michael was also able to accommodate my dietary restrictions (vegetarian) with no problem. I highly recommend this experience! I look forward to try and recreate the noodles back home for my friends and family.

Fun and delicious !
I had a fantastic time with Michael. We had a lot of fun - wandered through a local market and bought fresh ingredients which we used for our cooking. The kitchen was a short walk from the market. Making the noodles was a lot of fun and we got to slurp our way through them afterwards for lunch. Would highly recommend this activity!!
