Description
The tour begins with an introduction to Dublin City, as we head south towards County Wicklow, known affectionately as the "Garden of Ireland". Beautiful lakes, dense forests and romantic brooks make this a wonderful scenic drive and a fine day out from the big city. See the scenery made famous by films such as Braveheart and P.S. I Love You. We make our way over the Wicklow mountains to Glendalough (minimum 1,5 hrs stop) - the valley of the two lakes. Enjoy a relaxing walk to the Upper Lake and explore the monastic ruins of St Kevin's monastery including its round towers, Celtic crosses and much more.

Itinerary
We begin with an introduction to Dublin City after which we leave the city behind and head south towards the Wicklow Mountains. Meet your fellow travelers for a great trip to the "Garden of Ireland."
As we leave the city we pass by Sugar Loaf mountain and descend through Ireland's highest village of Roundwood past beautiful Lough Tay (the Guinness Lake) on your way to magnificent Glendalough.
Renowned for its magnificent scenery and rich and varied heritage in terms of history and archaeology, Glendalough is famed for the Braveheart wedding scenes and it really is one of the most beautiful visitor sites in all of Ireland. You will have 2 hours to explore the deep valley with its ruined Monastic City of Celtic crosses, round towers and much more. Known as the valley of 2 lakes, we enjoy a leisurely stroll along the bank of the river, through the woods where we are greeted by babbling brooks, crystal cascades and the lakes of Glendalough. A real picture perfect moment. If you are a fan of the Hollywood Blockbusters 'PS I Love You' and 'Braveheart' then join us on this tour! You will understand why Mel Gibson chose the Wicklow mountains to be the Highlands of Scotland and Glendalough to be the spot for the wedding scene. And then of course there are all the romantic scenes from 'PS I Love You', this is where Hilary Swank met Gerard Butler for the first time...you never know who you can meet!
We return to Dublin, delighted with our wonderful half day tour and with great photos and memories to last a lifetime.

Beautiful landscape, rough bus ride, less than “charismatic “ bus driver who was hard to understand … I thought there was more to this tour than Viator described on their site…
We loved the hiking, waterfall and lake during our trip. Stunning scenery less than an hour from Dublin. Great little piece of paradise.
Tour guide Shane? Was awesome.
Diana was marvelous. Charming and personable. he has intimate knowledge of all the places we saw. She did a great job dscribing what we were seeing and its history. Took us to a charming local (not touristy) restaurant. She is a terrific guide
Bus showed up on time, and was comfortable. It took us through beautiful scenery, and an appropriate amount of time (~2 hours) was provided for hiking & exploring Wicklow Mountains. My only complaint, if there is one (and it's minor) is that the tour guide microphone was low quality, such that I had trouble hearing the tour guide's narration as the sound quality was lacking.
I planned a half-day tour through DoDublin on our last day and also arranged the day after accordingly. When the tour started, we were picked up on time, but at the next pick-up point, the bus "broke down" and we were all put off with an apology and had to get off. No help in getting our money back. No visible intention to provide a replacement. It should be noted that the "broken" bus drove away under its own power. My guess is they didn't get it completely full and therefore canceled it. And to top it all off, we are supposed to contact the booking portal DoDublin for the refund. The info email doesn't work and no one picks up the phone either.
Very entertaining dat trip with a good driver and guide during the trip. The view on the lower lake, upper lake as well as the waterfall was amazing.
A great morning in Glendalough. Great seats up front of the bus which left on time. Driver Gerry knew his stuff, presented with much humour! Maybe another hour in Glendalough would have been nice to take in the lakes, visitors centre, cemetery and a quick cuppa coffee. Overall, it was fantastic and would highly recommend Paddywagon tours. Looking on your site for the next adventure! Keep up the good work!
They are very punctual! As it turned 8am the coach pulled off as we pulled up in a cab behind… by pure luck our cab driver was an absolute legend and chased him down to a traffic light and asked the coach driver to let us on and he was also a legend to say yes! The trip it self was great, informative guide on the coach. I only wish we had more time at the lake to actually travel further. We could walk to the upper lake, go for a swim, have some food and then had to rush back. If we didn’t swim so long we could have visited the waterfall (Ive already been once before by car) and maybe walked a bit further. Otherwise very affordable compared to getting a taxi the whole way or public transport. Would recommend for a half day trip.
Had a lovely day together with Collins bus tours, our tour guide Mac and our driver Joseph were excellent, entertaining and engaging. Would recommend this to anyone that is interested!
