This was epic experience, starting with amazing guides that made everything easy and wonderful (Brianna, Ryan, Noah, Alden). Every aspect exceeded our expectations and we were fortunate with calm conditions on the lake. Highly recommend this excursion when in Anchorage!
The glacier was amazing! We took the train from anchorage to spencer lake where we met our 4 guides; each of them were very knowledgeable. We kayaked to the glacier, about an hour, and did a short hike to a view point to get a better view of the glacier. We kayaked back and had lunch. We then took the train a bit more south where we saw a moose and 3 bear cubs. Overall it was an amazing experience and would definitely recommend.

Once in a lifetime, small group (2 of us and our guide), remote and serene. Guide kept us safe, and lunch was great! Pricey, but absolutely worth EVERY penny. When you get back on the train (see/zoom in on photo) and hear everyone on the train ohh and awe over the lake, you get to say "I kayaked that"(maybe not out loud).
This experience is amazing. The price is worth it considering all of the things that are included in an all day tour! The train ride is included (this is like $150 on its own or something higher) - your tickets will be at the train stop check-in counter. This is a small group - only like 10 people and 3 tour guides. All of our tour guides are so young like college or high school and I was nervous at first but they were responsible, respectful, knowledgeable, and funny! They make the cutest homemade lunch fresh that morning (sandwich, cookie, chips, carrots, and chips with condiments for each person). They help all kayakers - both fast and slow. They take you on a hike to get a closer look at the glacier! I will say that you obviously can't get that close to the glacier as they can flip at any given point and 90% is under the water although it would be cool to really get close up. I would definitely do this again!
The trip was very wholesome. Our tour guides Ryan, Jess, Ted and Olivia were so great and very connected with nature. Perfect people for the tour. I loved the homemade lunch. It feels like a field trip with a group of friends.
We went on very windy day, a day after significant calving of the glacier. Our guides had to work really hard to get us through some ice. We had to adapt part of the excursion and our planned easy hike to a nice viewpoint was some serious bush whacking. We should have worn different shoes. The guides, Caroline and River, kept us safe and we got to enjoy a nice experience despite the wind. The train ride was beautiful. We liked that it stopped when we saw a moose giving everyone a chance to see it.

This trip is expensive but it's totally worth it. You get all your money's worth. We had a full day with Brianna and Jack. They were so informative and friendly. We had 1 day to spend in Anchorage and wanted to explore and do as much as possible in one day and this excursion checks all the boxes to get a comprehensive idea of what the area entails and offers. From taking the alaska railway to the kayaking to the glacier, which is fantastic to the small hike up the glacier. Lunch is good and provided along with snacks and hot chocolate. The guides, Brianna and Jack were so accommodating. They went above and beyond and couldn't have asked for better guides. Do yourselves a favor and take this excursion.
Our tour guides, Jack and Brianna were PHENOMENAL!!! So kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They both went out of their way to make our experience memorable and unforgettable. Jack and Brianna are a huge asset to this tour. We felt like they were part of friend group and made our experience one we will never forget. Would definitely recommend this tour 100%!!
