Galway City Walking Tour

Description
This is an intimate tour with a local. The idea is to relay all information in a fun manner and to leave visitors with a very good experience, not just the bare facts. Galway is a vibrant, fun and energetic city and our tours will reflect that energy. Each tour is as new an experience for the guide as the visitor. No two tours are ever the same. That is what makes Athas Tours so unique.

This tour was included in the CIE Pub Tour my wife and I took. We met our guide, Brian Nolan, outside O’Connell’s Pub, where we sampled a pint before we set off to explore the City Brian loves and is native to. He brought us Eyre Square where JFK gave a speech in June 1963. He then took us through the Latin Quarter and then down to the river. He has a great sense of humor and depth of knowledge about his birthplace. A wonderful experience I would highly recommend as a starting point before exploring the lovely town of Galway on your own.
Hi there I believe this was meant for Brian, not my tour, Athas Tours Galway. I will gladly accept a 5 star review any day, but maybe delete this and find his website thanks! Gary
Great tour, small group, lots of local history and knowledge delivered at a great pace and with lots of laughs. Gary was fab
Thanks so much for this great review Andy, I couldn't ask for better! I try to keep a good energy going during the tour and have some 'Craic' mixed in with the history and facts along the way. May the road rise before you. Gary
Our guide Gary was wonderful- so much great information about Galway and gave a great overview of the city. He was very accommodating as well- easy to communicate and adjust the time. Highly recommend this tour!
Hi Lisa Thank you for this great review. One thing I do like to be is as flexible as possible. I realise that visitors like you keep me in a living and I am very grateful for that. Wishing you, your family and my many American guests over the years a very happy 250th anniversary, too! Gary.
Jason’s exceptional job was evident in his incredibly friendly, interesting, knowledgeable, and skilled communication of Galway’s history and its connection to the homelands of the tour participants. KB
Hi there KB. This is the second great review I have received for Jason But he is a different tour. Please check and see if you can review the correct business. Thanks!
a great walking tour, not too long and definitely not boring. jason our guide had us locked into everything he was saying and is a great story teller. so informative, super funny and would recommend this walking tour 110% thanks again jason !:))
Hi there. My name is Gary Casey. You reviewed the wrong tour. Please redo your review as Jason does not work here. He sounds like he is very good. Thank you and enjoy my home city! Gary
Our guide, Gary, was very knowledgeable . It was a great way ti begin our stay in Galway and get to know the city center.
Hi Maggie Thanks a milliilon for your great review! It was a pleasure to show you about my home. I always try to learn something new about the city to add to my tours Wishing you many more adventures and fun, Gary
Gary was so knowledgeable and friendly. It was an amazing tour that hit all of Galway’s highlights, I definitely recommend it.
Hiya Megan! Thanks for that smashing review, it was a pleasure to show you about my home. I just love a bit of reading and research and learn new stuff about Galway every day. Wishing you many more grand adventures, Gary
Enjoyable tour of Galway with our Guide Paul, full of knowledge & good sense of humour . Money well spent . Didn’t let the rain & cold day spoil our trip
Thank you for the fabulous review Rachael! Leaving guests happy is what it is all about with our Galway walks. It makes it so worthwhile. Do me a wee favour and recheck the name Paul, as we do not use a guide of that name & don't want to steal another's thunder lol. Go n-eiri an bothar leat, Gary
We met up with Brian Nolan our guide near the Spanish Arch for our private tour. He proceeded to take us to the Galway City Museum keeping us amused there and managed to keep us together up Quay and High Street, no small feat pointing out several features and regaling us in folklore and history. Time well spent that made us appreciate this part of Ireland.
Hi There Thank you for this great review on behalf of Brian. He is a fab guide! Maybe remove this and post on his Galway Walks instead. I run Athas Tours walks Kind regards Gary
Gary gave us a wonderful history of the area...really delving into some of the most common. Irish surnames n some of the stories behind them ...it was great!!!
Thanks so much Lynn! Lots of visitors love to know more about their own surnames and Irish ones - I have tried to learn as much as possible on a few of them. Go n-eiri an bothar leat, Gary
