Itinerary
Iglesia Colonial de Chinchero
90 min
We will leave Cusco at approximately 7:00 a.m. and travel through beautiful Andean landscapes to the traditional town of Chinchero.
Here, we will visit the Chinchero Archaeological Site, exploring its impressive Inca terraces, stone structures and historical remains while learning about the importance of this ancient settlement.
We will also visit a traditional textile workshop, where you will learn about the ancestral culture of Chinchero. Local artisans will demonstrate traditional techniques such as spinning and preparing alpaca or sheep wool, natural dyeing, and hand weaving.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet local artisans, learn about their traditions, see how natural materials are transformed into colorful textiles, and appreciate a living part of Andean culture.
Archaeological Site of Moray
Admission included40 min
Next, in 25 minutes we will arrive at the archaeological complex of Moray. Moray has several circular agricultural terraces. According to some historians, these structures were used by the Incas to grow plants from warmer climates.
Salinas de Maras
Admission included30 min
Our next stop will be the Maras Salt Mines, which are located 25 minutes from Moray. The Salt Mines contains dozens of square wells of salt water. These wells are filled with salt water that comes from the underground. After being exposed to sunlight, the water evaporates leaving the salt behind. Then, the salt is gathered by the local population and sold at the local market.
Urubamba
45 min
After exploring the Maras Salt Mines, we will drive to Urubamba town. Urubamba is located in the lowest section of the Sacred Valley, so the climate is a little warmer. We will be having a buffet lunch here.
After having lunch, we will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo.
Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo
Admission included60 min
We will leave Urubamba after lunch and in 30 minutes we will be in the town and archaeological park of Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is famous for its long stone stairs, which lead to main area of the complex. Like Pisac, Ollantaytambo was an Inca royal palace.
We will also visit the Ollantaytambo town, where you will be able buy some souvenirs.
(After the tour in Ollantaytambo, if you have a train booked to Aguas Calientes, we will also drop you off directly at the Ollantaytambo train station so you can continue your journey to Machu Picchu without any inconvenience.)
Parque Arqueologico Pisac
Admission included60 min
After exploring Ollantaytambo, the transportation will take us for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the town and archaeological complex of Pisac, located in the Sacred Valley. The town of Pisac is a cozy village located next to the Urubamba river. It has a traditional market where you can buy souvenirs and taste the local food.
On the other hand, the archaeological complex of Pisac is located on a nearby hilltop. It comprises numerous stone buildings that were the houses of the Inca nobility.
After exploring this beautiful place, we will return to Cusco city, where we will be arriving around 7:00 pm.

Five sites and Three Shoppings in one day.
It was an all day tour. We visited the most historically significant Inkas Ruines around Cusco region. The only regret was that we had a limited time dedicated to each sites. We spent too much time for shopping in jewelry store, chocolate factory and textile store instead that wasn't a part of the tour if I remember correctly.
Operator response
Miss Julia,Thank you so much for sharing this with us! We’re really glad you enjoyed the Inca sites and the experience overall.
And yes, we completely understand what you mean about the shopping stops. If you’re visiting Cusco for the archaeological sites, of course you want as much time as possible to enjoy them. We appreciate you pointing this out, and we’ll keep it in mind when organizing our tours.
Thanks again for joining us and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to see you again in Cusco!

Very rushed tour & Rip-off Vendors
⭐️ 1/5 – Very rushed tour
Pros:
- The guides were very knowledgeable and explained the history of each site well.
- Good option if you just want a quick overview of the Sacred Valley.
Cons:
- The four main attractions were extremely rushed. We only had around 10–15 minutes at Chinchero, Pisac and Moray, and about 25 minutes at Ollantaytambo, despite all being massive sites.
- Those time was spent standing and listening to the guide rather than actually exploring the sites.
- We also stopped at three vendors, spending around 20-30mins which is more time than the main sites. Each product in those vendor has no price tags.
- We had to pay around **70 soles extra for the entrance tickets**, which made the limited time at each site even more disappointing.
Personally, I would much rather visit fewer places and have enough time to properly explore them or skipping those vendors/shops as a whole. The whole point of visiting the Sacred Valley, for me, is to experience the historical sites—not just quickly listen to their history and leave.
If you want a quick skim tour, this may be suitable. If you want to actually explore the sites, I’d recommend a less rushed itinerary.
Operator response
Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience and your comments. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our guide's explanations and the history of the places you visited.
We're sorry that the time spent at the archaeological sites didn't meet your expectations. The Sacred Valley shared tour is designed to visit several of the main attractions in a single day, so the time at each site is necessarily limited. However, we also offer a Traditional Sacred Valley Tour, which visits only Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero, allowing much more time to explore each archaeological site at a relaxed pace.
Regarding the stops at the artisan centers, our intention is to introduce visitors to traditional Andean weaving techniques and other locally made products. Visiting these places is part of the cultural experience, and any purchases are completely optional.
As for the vendors you encountered at the entrances of some archaeological sites, unfortunately they are independent sellers who operate in those public areas and are not associated with our company, so we have no control over their presence.
We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our services. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Peru and provide an experience that better matches your travel style and expectations.

The guide Andy was very good
Tour was ok. Lunch was terrible and everything that was supposed to be hot was cold. And music and noise very loud.

This tour took you to all...
This tour took you to all the sites it listed, but time at the historically and archaeologically significant sites were sacrificed at the expense of trying to rip tourists off.
At every opportunity, we were taken to a vendor who could play tricks to take tourists money, while only being given 10 minutes to explore each historic site actually advertised as part of the tour.
English was presented on this tour as an after thought, with long complex descriptions and discussions had in Spanish and then a very concise description provided in English.
Operator response
Dear Ms. Victoria,
First of all, we would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly sorry that some aspects of the tour did not fully meet your expectations.
We would like to explain that nowadays, near several archaeological sites such as Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines, and Pisac, local communities and residents offer their handicrafts and traditional products as part of their culture and daily livelihood.
Our agency does not own or operate any shops or sales stands. During the tour, we only make a brief stop in Chinchero, where local people demonstrate the traditional Andean weaving and spinning process, and another short stop in Pisac, where visitors receive an explanation about local jewelry and handicrafts.
We completely understand your point of view and are very sorry that you felt the time spent at some archaeological sites was too limited. Your comments are very important to us, as they help us continue improving and providing a more balanced and enjoyable experience for all our visitors.
We also sincerely apologize if the English explanations did not meet your expectations. We will certainly take your comments into consideration in order to improve the attention and quality of information provided to our English-speaking passengers.
Thank you again for your visit and for sharing your feedback with us. We truly hope that, despite this inconvenience, you were still able to enjoy the beauty and history of Cusco and the Sacred Valley
Kind regards and best wishes.

Great experience!
We had an amazing experience on this tour! Andy was a fantastic guide - super fun, engaging, and incredibly informative. He shared so much about Inca history and culture, and we learned a lot throughout the day.
Everything was very well organized, with timely pickup and drop-off, and great communication from start to finish. The sites we visited were absolutely stunning, and each stop felt worthwhile.
One of the highlights was a stop at a baby alpaca shop, where they walk you through the entire process of how the products are made and dyed. It was really interesting, and you also have the option to purchase items if you’d like.
We did the full tour, including the final stop in Pisac, which was beautiful and definitely worth it. Just a heads-up: some people in our group chose to end their tour early at Ollantaytambo to catch their train to Machu Picchu, so that’s an option if you coordinate ahead of time.
Highly recommend this tour!

Beautiful Experience
Loved it. Jimi was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable. We hit Pisaq, which was my favorite, Ollantaytambo & those ruins were amazing. It was my birthday & at lunch they had the restaurant make it a whole thing, which was sweet. We also hit the salt mines, & lots of other places, too many to remember. Overall great experience
