(In winter you need to have sturdy snow boots. With lots of snow special equipment can be rented at the cable car station.)! The picturesque Lakes and Mountains district “Salzkammergut” and the extraordinary village “Hallstatt” at Lake Hallstättersee. The UNESCO Cultural Heritage Committee wrote: “… nature of extraordinary beauty added to scientific import …” Some guests say it is the most extraordinary lake village in the world. Heading east from Salzburg City the first lake we pass is the emerald lake Fuschlsee!
A short stop high over St.Gilgen (a site from "The Sound of Music" movie). On the way to 5 Fingers and Hallstatt we go through the famous Lakes and Mountains district “Salzkammergut” passing by also hotel Schloss Fushl and the headquarters of Red Bull. Photo stop high over Lake Wolfgang and the Mozart village St. Gilgen .
On our way from St.Gilgen to Hallstatt we continue our drive along lake Wolfgang, we take a picturesque view on the beautiful village of St.Wolfgang at Salzkammergut. On request we can make a short photo stop!
Bad Ischl was the summer residence of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth (Sisi). In Kaiservilla the declaration of the war against the Kingdom of Serbia was signed. It was the beginning of WW I. You will get explained about the history while passing the town.

On our way back to Salzburg we pass through several famous Ski resorts like Gosau,Russbach and Abtenau.
We drive through one of the charming family Ski resort Dachstein west., during the ski season can be seen many downhill skiers!
Abtenau, beautiful Austrian Alpine town, pass by without stopping.
Golling, A beautiful and lively Austrian Medieval town with a Fortress and impressive unique architectural houses!
We passing by one of the worlds oldest salt mines accessible for visitors at Hallein / Dürrnberg mountain. The “white gold” mined there provided almost limitless riches for the prince archbishops manifested until present days in Salzburg’s baroque magnificence.
Sit back and enjoy the ride back to Salzburg along the Austrian Alps. The tour will end near Mirabell gardens or near Mozart's residence at Makart Square!

VERY IMPORTANT: The client must be ready for pick-up 15 mins.(08:30am) prior/before to tour start as he/she can be already the 1st one to be picked up. Maximum waiting time 5 mins, beyond that regretfully is not possible. Note: On request other pick-up places, i.e. Salzburg main train station/Schallmoos EXIT, Edelweiss office Theatergasse 1, Salzburg 5020. will be possible.

The “tour guide” just treated himself as a “driver”, he didn’t introduce information, just led us to the place to buy tickets and to drive back after our “self guided tour”. In my opinion, I think he also needs to improve his driving attitude as he drove fast and sometimes he off hands from the steering wheel. For some occasions, he also turned his head back to the middle seat passengers to chat during driving the van.
Thank you for your review. We are surprised as actually our chauffeur-guides love their job and are fond of being a chauffeur-guide. From years of experience with them we have not heard of a behavior as described, all are well trained and experienced. We also organize the tickets for the booked locations, never a client has to do that himself. From that we are not sure whether you indeed did a tour with us. From your user name we also cannot conclude which client you might be. For the tours that went to 5Fingers on 16th Aug we asked the chauffeur-guides about a maybe not happy client on tour but non had. Maybe you can check once more whether you indeed went with us. (We had one time that a taxi company pretending to being a professional tour operator used our contact details. We found that out when clients of them one day called us because they had not been picked up.) We also can offer you to send us your impressions in the messenger system. Spectacular views, the trail to 5 Fingers is physically tough; it is not an excursion to go on with very small children being carried, nor for very elderly people. The cable car and the views, yes, but 5 Fingers, no. Otherwise, spectacular..

This tour was incredible! We had perfect amount of time in each spot and definitely was one of the best days on our Europe trip. Fritz was also a great tour guide! He promptly picked us up and told us lots of stories/history about Austria in the car. We pulled over on the way for some amazing views. He gave us do’s and dont’s in both Hallstat and Salzburg which helped us avoid the tourist traps (and ended up eating delicious food with his reccomendations). Overall, a must do while staying in Salzburg!

Shiva picked us at our hotel. Only one other couple was booked with us. Shiva was very friendly and informative as we drove Hallstadt. He gave us great information along the and was very flexible when our timeline was delayed by an active bike marathon.
