St. Gerasimos is the island’s patron saint and his relics are kept in the monastery’ s smaller church in a silver sarcophagus which is opened during services for the congregation to kiss his feet .Set in the Omala valley ,with a splendid bell-tower build in the architectural style peculiar to the Ionian Islands. A small hole in the church floor leads down to an underground chamber where the saint lived as a hermit.

The tour by my wife and myself was fabulous and enabled us to see a lot of Kefalonia which we would otherwise not have found ourselves. So many beautiful and interesting places to let us to appreciate this lovely island. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable, helpful and generous and made the trip so much better and enjoyable. absolutely recommended.
Great tour. Mario was a very good guide. Very flexible too - our hotel wasn’t on the lists of pre-approved pickup locations, but they came to pick us at our accommodation to make it easier. The tour is completely personalised, you can pick and choose what you want to see and do. Would recommend

This tour was fenomenal. Dimitris was our driver and tour guide taking us into good spots. We pass by Sami and had lunch in Fiskardo. Dimitris was really awesome, attentive to serve and flexible for our preferences. We saw Monastery, pass through Sami, visit Melissani Cave, Drogarati Cave and more. If you’re looking for a private tour and experienced guide which will take you to those places this is one of the best

Dimitris listened to our wishes and sent his driver Panos to pick us up at our chosen location.Panos was absolutely brilliant.He was a careful and considerate driver who didn’t rush us during the day..he discussed what we wanted to visit when he picked us up and together we established an itinerary.He showed us the best photo spots and recommended restaurants.Panos is extremely knowledgeable about his island and so enthusiastic about sharing the history around it.An absolute gem of a person! I would 100% recommend the day tour to anyone who comes to visit. A 5* experience!
We had an amazing day with Dimitris. He picked us up from exactly where we had planned at the time we had planned and then whisked us off to see all the fabulous sights of the island. He consulted us at every step about what we did or did not want to see and advised in the order. Using his local information to know when the best time to view certain things were to avoid large queues. During the journeys to and from places he would give us a run down on the history of the places and fascinating facts - he seems to know absolutely everything there is to know about the island even dealing with my youngest’s random questions with ease. He is also quite the photographer and will take as many photos of you in the beautiful scenic locations as needed. Plenty of ice cold water available which was super appreciated after walking in the heat for a while. He even recommended places to eat and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately our youngest became car sick during the journey (Not Dimitiris fault she’s just fell victim to Kefalonias roads) but Dimitiris handled this well. Seating her up front with plenty of air con and taking the roads carefully. Honestly a fantastic day was had by all of us both old and young. Would hire Dimitris again in a heartbeat.

We had the best day out yesterday with Dimitris, we saw everything we wanted to in a full day tour, nothing was too much trouble and he tailor made the whole day to suit our needs. Dimitris was very friendly and knowledgeable telling us all about the island and took us to a beautiful beach to swim which we would never have known about without him. We saw all the best bits with no hasstle and at our own time and pace. He recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch where we had a table right on the sea edge with lovely food and great value. Nothing was too much trouble and if you want to see the island best bits in one day without getting on a huge coach with lots of other tourists then book this! Worth every penny!
