Early in the morning, our team of friendly guides will meet you at Time Out Market (Mercado da Ribeira), in front of the shop "Florista Santos", outside of the building. To get here by public transport you have several options. The easiest way is taking the metro (green line) and drop off at "cais do sodré" station. Once the group is ready our guide will drive you to Sintra, aprox. 40 minutes to get there.
Once in Sintra you’ll head up the hill to the iconic Pena Palace, one of the most beloved castles of Sintra. With its vivid colors, blend of architectural styles, and sweeping views, it’s easy to see why this 19th-century marvel is the crown jewel of Sintra Castles. Sofia was absolutely amazing!! She spent the entire day with us- she showed us the adorable town of Sintra, the famous castles, the beautiful viewpoints of the westernmost point of Portugal and she even extended our time and took us to a town I really wanted to see. She was so knowledgeable, personable, professional, fun and most of all she was incredible with our two daughters, ages 4 and 7. Of course the walking and history talk can get tiresome for kids that young, but she made it fun and engaging for them so they were never bored! She held their hands, carried them, played games with them in the car- we wish we could have kept her with us for our entire trip!! She was truly the best- if you want an amazing experience, book with her asap!!! Thank you, Sofia!!! ❤️

We booked a private full-day tour of Sintra and it was hands-down the highlight of our Portugal trip! Our guide Miguel was fantastic – knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and incredibly flexible. He showed us the beautiful palaces and gardens and informed us of the hidden details we would have completely missed on our own. We had time to wander the beautiful town and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with Miguel's recommendation. Skip-the-line access and a comfortable private vehicle made everything so relaxed and stress-free compared to the crowds we saw elsewhere. Miguel was a safe driver and we had a great time! If you're visiting Sintra, do yourself a favor and go private – you’ll see more, learn more, and enjoy it so much more. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful tour! Our guide Miguel was very kind and funny, and gave us a lot of interesting historical and architectural information. The pick up, drive, and drop-off were very easy. We purchased the option where we bought our own entry tickets for Pena Palace and Regaleira, and wish there had been more clear communication ahead of time for what entry time slots we should have purchased. We had no problem getting into the sights, even though our time slots were slightly different than the actual arrivals, though not sure if this would have been the same in a busier season. Other than that, would recommend this tour! Pena Palace and Regaleira were both stunning! Definitely worth checking out if you have time.
