Description
Uncover paths of the underground corridors during our half-day, 4- hour trip from Krakow where it all begins. After 30 - 40 minutes drive you will get to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and join English guide. The guide will bring you closer to the history of the place and will show you the most important places in the underground world. Guided tour in Wieliczka Salt Mine usually takes around 2 - 2.5 hrs. During the tour you will be able to visit St Kinga’s Chapel - 54 m long and almost 12 m high chapel resembles interiors of medieval wooden churches and is a real underground wonder with breathtaking chandeliers made of salt crystals, underground corridors and landscapes that cannot be seen on the surface saline lakes and beautiful underground chambers. On a standard touristic route visitor have to walk around 800 stairs - 400 at the entrance. After the tour our driver will drive you back to Krakow.

Wieliczka Salt Mine
Visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of Poland’s top attractions that's on UNESCO's World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The half-day skip-the-line tour departs from Krakow. Learn about the salt mine that is the best-preserved site of its type in the world. Opened in the 13th century, it has been in continuous operation since that time. Explore some of the 300 kilometers of hallways extending over 9 levels and reaching depths of 327 meters. See the chambers and chapels in the mine's underground city, including the famous St. Kinga Chapel, visited each year by more than a million tourists from all over the world.

- Specialized infant seats are available

- A moderate amount of walking is involved. The route includes around 800 steps in total — you descend via stairs, while the return to the surface is by lift.
- Not recommended for participants who become easily claustrophobic. There are some very narrow paths inside the salt mine and this may be difficult for some.
- Hand luggage should be of a reasonable size, and larger luggage should be left in the car.
- There is no minimum age to experience the activity, however, children should be capable of walking unassisted or be carried in baby slings or baby carriers. Baby strollers are not allowed underground.
- Temperatures in Wieliczka Salt Mine are around 15ºC or 59ºF, it is recommended that you bring a jacket
- DEPARTURE: Your pickup time might be changed and will be between 30-60 minutes (sometimes a more significant change is necessary)

Assistance
Sebastian was awesome. I walk with a cane and he assisted me with getting the lift at the Salt Mine. He was extremely nice and polite and I would recommend him to everyone.

Professional service and a must see
We went to the Saltmine with KrakowDirect today. The hotel pickup was exactly on time, although they do not drop you back! The Saltmine is a must see but very busy. We found the getting out via and elevator a little tiresome. Only 9 people crammed into each elevator at a time. Still, a worthwhile half day experience. Our guides were excellent, plus we liked our driver/guides dry sense of humour. Thank you KrakowDirect.

Would definitely recommend this amazing trip to the Salt Mine. Very reasonably priced for the tour you get including hotel pickup and drop off to several convenient locations back in Krakow. Transport - an air conditioned bus - was comfortable. Excellent tour host Krystian. Good length of visit, no rushing.

Well run and professionally organised tour of Weiliczka salt mine
Driver and team leader Leo was good, on time, ensured all instructions where clear to all the group despite struggling a little with his English at times he made sure everyone knew what to do and where our final drop offs would be. Our guide at the mine also very good.

A fabulous trip to Wieliczka salt mine
Great tour. Very interesting and perfect amount of time was spent in the caves. LEO was a fantastic group leader, he was very helpful and friendly. He made sure we knew exactly where to be and what times. He was very welcoming onboard and drove safely. The tour consisted of approx 30 people and I think this was the perfect number, everyone was friendly and the tour guide (Margaret) made sure we all stayed near and heard all the information through the earpieces we got on arrival. Great price for this trip, especially as it included pick up and drop off. Would recommend.
