Description
Auschwitz-Birkenau is a terrible but also terribly educational place. Take DutchPoint Kraków with a Dutch Guide to the camp where more than 1.2 million people were killed, including about 60,000 Dutch and 24,000 Belgians. During this excursion (6 hours excl. travel time) with a Dutch Guide we walk through Museum Auschwitz I and also see the impressive Dutch barracks - Flemish guests see the Belgian ones - and walk through a gas chamber. After a break we go to the huge Birkenau. There we visit barracks - which give a good idea of the living conditions - and the remains of gas chambers II and III. We end the excursion at the monument of Monowitz (Auschwitz III). It is possible to visit the bookstores along the way and there are 5 sanitary stops. Please note that we do not offer all our available dates / excursions via this platform.

Itinerary
Our excursion begins at Auschwitz I and takes you through the former camp, which is now a museum. Through photos and the original barracks, we will tell you the story from the first deportations to the liberation on January 27, 1945. 80 minutes - transfer from Krakow to Oświęcim 15 minutes - restroom break / entry 150 minutes - visit to Auschwitz I
After a short break, we’ll take the bus to the Judenrampe, the spot between Auschwitz I and Birkenau where trains arrived, and people were selected. From there, we walk the same route as those who were taken to Birkenau. At Birkenau, we’ll visit the wooden barracks that give a clear view of the living conditions during the war years. We’ll walk past the train station toward the remains of gas chambers II and III. Afterward, we’ll visit the Dutch monument. Then, we’ll return to the gate and make a brief stop at the bookstore. 30 minutes - transfer from Auschwitz I to Birkenau and break 90 minutes - visit to Auschwitz II-Birkenau 30 minutes - visit to the Judenrampe
After a short break, we will take the bus to Monowitz (Auschwitz III) and the Buna works. Upon arrival, we’ll tell you all about the immense factory complex established by the Nazis and the Monowitz camp they founded. Although the barracks are no longer visible, you will still see the factories and some remnants of bunkers that remain standing. Monowitz was the most grueling camp to work in, located about 10 kilometers from Auschwitz I. We will conclude the excursion at the impressive Monowitz monument. 45 minutes - transfer and visit to Auschwitz III-Monowitz 90 minutes - transfer from Monowitz to Krakow

Impressive and educational day
It was a very impressive and educational day. Tourgide Roland wanted to tell us a lot. Transport and other facilities were well arranged. Also the information provision before and during the tour.

Had a super impressive day
Had a tour today with Wesley, this man knows a lot about Kampen. It was great how he continued to talk about what had happened with feeling. So if you are going to do this, then definitely do it at Dutchpoint under the leadership of Wesley

Auschwitz Birkenau, an experience that must never be forgotten.
Today we went to Auschwitz Birkenau, finally after this trip had been on the schedule for years. We booked with DutchPoint Krakow and had Wesley as a guide. We are particularly surprised and extremely satisfied with the way and emotion with which Wesley led this tour. With passion for his craft and reverence for history, we couldn't have chosen a better day for a day with so much impact. Visit Auschwitz
Nothing but praise for DutchPoint and our guide Wesley. We visited Auschwitz 1, 2, and 3 with a small group. Wesley speaks with passion and feeling about these dark pages in history. We did not know about the existence of Auschwitz 3 and it is good that DutchPoint is highlighting this.

Much more than a tour, compliments to Wesley
Wesley made the history come alive and was more than just explaining the past. Everything was arranged perfectly and the stories behind the impressive locations made this an expierience for life. Everything was arranged by Wesley, from tickets, meeting point, travelling etc.

Booked this tour through Dutch Point and I can say in two words: fantastically arranged! The enthusiastic Dutch-speaking guide Wesley has spoken with such passion about the history of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The whole guidance from the pick-up point to the return was top arranged.

Clear Dutch explanations, both via website and during the tour.
Guide Wesley of Dutchpoint Krakow explains much, clearly and passionately about Auschwitz/the war. All previous info was received on time and questions answered via email. We would like to slow down the physical pace to look at everything a bit more calmly, but it is so mega busy with groups there that probably can't be. Think about sturdy footwear! We did not arrive by bus but by private transport and were at the agreed meeting point at 6.45 am. Then go straight to the (free) toilet because from 7 am it will be crazy there with all those buses arriving. Tip for those who give a tour; wear something that is easily recognizable from a distance. Groups are sometimes mixed up, so one quickly finds the guidance, should one fall a little behind. With Dutchpoint you go to Auschwitz 1 and 2 and then to 'monowitz'/auschwitz 3. We could go between 1 and 2 in their bus so our car did not have to go to 2. Saved parking costs. We then took the free shuttle bus back to 1 and then met the group again 15 minutes from there at 3. (We by car, she by bus) That last auschwitz 3 part is very short and not in a camp but in a park near residential area.
