After a short break of up to 15 minutes following the first camp visit, we will take you to the second part of the tour – Birkenau (Auschwitz II), located just a few minutes away. This was the largest section of the Nazi concentration and extermination complex, created with the intention of carrying out the mass extermination of European Jews.
Your guide will continue the moving tour through Brzezinka (Birkenau), built in 1941 under the orders of Heinrich Himmler, commander of the SS. The camp was designed to imprison up to 90,000 people under horrific and inhumane conditions.
During the visit, you will learn about the tragic stories of prisoners, brutal selections upon arrival, and inhuman medical experiments conducted by Nazi doctors, including Josef Mengele. The tour also covers the liberation of Auschwitz by soldiers of the 60th Army of the First Ukrainian Front on January 27, 1945 – a moment that marked the end of unimaginable suffering for the remaining prisoners.

Great experience and an important one
Picked up from meeting point and taken to the tour at 9.45. It was well put together and had the option to have lunch included (which I would highly recommend). Also take water with you due to the walking (it was a very hot the day when I went) as there are not many facilities. But the tour guide was amazing, informative and knowledgeable. It’s a very important experience that will stay with you long after you are dropped back off.

A Sobering Experience
Standing in Auschwitz was sobering in a way nothing I'd read or watched had prepared me for. Our guide was exceptional: deeply knowledgeable, respectful, and careful with every word. The history was told with the weight it deserves, and it's something I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. If you're in Kraków, go. All other tours are just that, tours.🕯️

Auschwitz-Birkenau tour
It was an early start but our driver contacted me the day before to ensure I had the times and offered a packed lunch (as no cafes on site). We decided to buy our own snacks - I would recommend this as it is so early you only need that, especially as your back just after 12.30pm.
The guide in Auschwitz was brilliant and keeps the group moving. The two hour tour goes in a flash with little time to reflect so be prepared- lots to see and take in.
The visit to Birkenau was excellent and emotional- the size of the place ! The guide was really knowledgeable throughout and provided time to ask questions whilst pointing out areas of interest.
It’s a hard day not only mentally but physically too, so if you have walking difficulties going up and down stairs be warned especially in Auschwitz. birkenau was more like a flat 2km walk with stops .
A truly inspiring and thought provoking g experience.
I would highly recommend.

Memorable experience
Great well organised from start to finish. Our guide Richard was informed and sensitive to respect the places we were visiting. Definitely worth a visit just make sure you bring your walking shoes as it’s a long day!

The driver, Igor was on the spot and helpful for us to get picked up. The guide was very understanding and informative. I wish the second half of the tour included head set so we could hear better. The entire experience was great but heartbreaking.

Very sad, but a must visit.
What an experience. Harrowing. Your guide was incredible, very passionate and educational. Transfers from our hotel were faultless. The lunch box provided for around £15 was really good.
