Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the region north of Stellenbosch has earned international acclaim not only for its Paarl wines but also the breathtaking beauty of its natural surroundings. The name Paarl means ‘pearl’ and reflects the way the ancient granite mountains, which early Dutch settlers called ‘den Diamont ende Peerlbergh’ (‘the diamond and pearl mountain’), glisten in the distance.

Influenced by our French heritage and international savoir-faire, we strive to make French style wines with a touch of South African vibes. We believe in natural, minimal intervention winemaking, with the firm believe that the secret to a great wine lies in the vineyard and in the beautiful landscape that surrounds it. You will be experiencing our biltong and wine pairing of five carefully selected wines, paired with premium cuts of biltong. Biltong is a cured, dry meat often enjoyed as a snack by South Africans. You can also choose a vegetarian option: A pairing of wine and chocolates If you wish to have lunch on the day (afternoon tour only) then please inform your guide at the start of the tour, this will allow your guide to make the necessary arrangements with the vineyard.
Your wine experience is not complete until we visit the town of Stellenbosch. . . The beautiful little town of Stellenbosch, lies surrounded by the Stellenbosch Mountains in the Jonkershoek River Valley in one of the most picturesque settings in the Cape. The second oldest town in South Africa has fondly been called ‘Eikestad’ or city of oaks and its streets are lined with some of the most beautiful surviving examples of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture in the Cape. You will have time to walk along Dorp Street and De Braak Street in Stellenbosch, browsing through a variety of boutique stores and to witness the enticing Dutch buildings. After enjoying all the wonders that the Cape Winelands Tour has to offer we will make our way back to Cape Town and drop you off at your hotel.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We appreciate your support to book with us.
We had such a wonderful time exploring Stellenbosch and indulging in some incredible wine and food pairings! The sommeliers were personable, knowledgeable, and made each tasting both enjoyable and informative. Fairview Winery was a delight! They were able to accommodate our vegan family member, providing delicious vegan cheese options that paired beautifully with the wines. The non-vegan cheeses were equally delicious, and the wine pairings were spot-on! Marianne Winery was another highlight! We thoroughly enjoyed the unique pairings featuring biltong and other meats, along with chocolates. A special shout-out to our driver, who was personable, knowledgeable, and added so much to the experience. Along the way, he shared fascinating history about Stellenbosch, making the drive just as interesting as the destinations. Beautiful scenery, amazing wine, delicious pairings, and great hospitality.
Thank you for booking with us, we value your feedback. The review has been passed on to your guide of the day and he is very happy to know that you enjoyed the experience. Your feedback helps us to keep on providing memorable experiences.
I have taken many tours from Viator to Europe and now to Africa. I have always been happy with what I get. Yet this tour was the WORST experience ever! The guide was not nice, he was not considered or patient. He was rude to explain things. Also, the tour itself is BAD. First wine tasting, you go to Fairview which is quite ok. But second, they take you to eat lunch while they serve you wine. That is not certainly a wine tasting with proper pairing of what you eat and drink. They just ask you what you want for lunch and then pour the wine. So you don´t taste the wine properly, neither enjoy your lunch since they try to be quick as a tasting.
Thank you for your feedback about the experience, we have investigated the date of your tour and discovered the following: (1) - You and your travel partner joined a group of 12 people in total - The rest of the 10 people of the group rated the guide of the day with excellent reviews. (2) - The group had a wine and cheese tasting at Fairview Wine and Cheese, the rest of the group loved the experience with no complaints. After the wine tasting the group of 10 people including the tour guide waited at the vehicle for you and your travel partner. You arrived late for the departure time and everyone had to wait for you. (3) - The second wine tasting took place at Marianne Wine Estate, the entire group had lunch at the vineyard while doing a wine tasting - The rest of the group enjoyed the experience of having lunch and wine tasting together and even generously tipped the wine advisor for explaining the wines. At the time of departure the rest of the group including the tour guide had to wait for you and your travel partner again while everyone is already in the vehicle. It seems like you inconvenienced the group more than once for not being mindful to time spent at destinations - 10 people out of the group of 12 enjoyed the experienced with excellent feedback. We understand that we cannot satisfy everyone.
I must see when visiting Cape Town. I absolutely loved my wine tour. My guide was very experienced and also gave me so much history. The wine experience was absolutely divine since I was the only person solo. It was just my Guide and I so he allowed me to have as much time as I wanted enjoying the fine wines at each winery then we also visited areas in Stellenbosch. Such a beautiful city to explore and lots of history there I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this tour. You are absolutely love it.❤️❤️❤️
The half day tour os Stellenbosch was very nice. Marco was very informative and got us to and from the vineyards quickly. The 2 vineyards were nice with good wines. A 3rd vineyard may have been better than trying to spend 30 minutes in the town.
The tour was well organized. Marco our guide did a fantastic job of explaining the history of the region along with showing us all the area had to offer.
Great day two vineyards 12 wines cheese and chocolate / biltong then to Stellenbosch at end was a great tour.
Shane was great! The wineries were fun and they did a good job explaining each wine and pairing! Even had non alcoholic pairings for my kids.
Nice itinerary for half day. Knowledgeable guide. The vehicle (van) was a bit of a rough ride.
