The Tales of Fire and Ice Tour brings together our most iconic aerial experiences, crowned with two unforgettable landings, one on a glacier and another at the Hengill Geothermal Area. Please not that the landings are weather and safety dependent.
Your adventure will commence at the Reykjavik Domestic Airport. Our experienced pilot will greet you with the warmest welcome and whisk you straight towards the Þórisjökull glacier for our first landing. During the journey towards the glacier we will fly you across the highest most bedazzled waterfall in all of Iceland; the famed Glymur.
This helicopter tour will save you hours of hiking and you will enjoy the panoramic view from your comfortable seat high in the sky. Once we reach our designated landing stop atop the vast glacier; you will have a chance to meander across the glacier, take photos and make countless memories! Throw snowballs, have a snowball fight! Build your very own snow angel and try making an snowman! Just simply enjoying the stunning view is enough in its own right as well! The crisp fresh glacier air is tantalizing to your senses.
We will take you the Þingvellir National Park, on the Golden Circle, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The place is of considerable historical importance as it proudly boasts being the birthplace of the oldest existing parliament in the world. Here, You will also have a chance to gaze upon the sparkling waters of Iceland’s largest lake. The area weaves a colorful tapestry of Icelandic history. You will gaze upon the imprints of the Vikings when looking down the Canyon that splits the American and the Eurasian continents at the Þingvellir National Park. You will also have a chance to see the continental drift of the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates that’s fully visible from above.
The second landing of this tour would be at the Hengill Geothermal Area. The area received its name from the Hengill volcano which is situated in a remote valley that can only be accessed by a helicopter or a hike. The valley boasts hot springs, boiling mud pots that you can walk towards and observe from very up close. The magical place will wrap you around its enchanted little finger and make you fall in love with the otherworldly beauty surrounding you.

We absolutely loved our experience. It was utterly amazing. I felt after I did this I would’ve had to do the golden circle. Too many tourists to impersonal. This was way beyond our expectations and absolutely the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Thank you so much for the kind and welcome and such a a good helicopter pilot!

What to say but WOW! We had an amazing ride! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and our pilot was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The commentary made the experience even more interesting and enjoyable. It was a fantastic way to see Ireland from a whole new perspective, and we would highly recommend it!

Besides the weather was not favorable, we were still accommodated while making sure safety requirements were met and we get the experience. The pilot was really nice, cooperative and was guiding throughout the tour.

Landing on a glacier was the absolute highlight — a unique and magical experience that we will remember forever. Flying over such extraordinary scenery and then actually stepping out onto the glacier is something that is difficult to put into words. We went on the Fire and Ice tour and it was amazing. Both stops were beautiful and interesting. The flight over Reykjavik was stunning and flying close to the beautiful waterfalls and other sights on the way was a fantastic experience. Our pilot Kai was great and the flight felt smooth. The helicopter itself looked a little old and the audio in the onboard headsets wasn't great, but you will be much to busy staring out on the Icelandic scenery to care. This was the highlight of our stay, totally worth it!
