Fes Family Cooking Class

An absolutely wonderful and unforgettable experience! From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome and immediately like part of the family. The whole family is so warm, kind and genuinely lovely – their hospitality made this experience truly special. Cooking together was so much fun! We learned a lot about Moroccan food and traditions, prepared delicious dishes together, laughed a lot and enjoyed every minute. The atmosphere was relaxed, personal and full of warmth, and everyone we met was incredibly friendly and likeable. And of course, the food was absolutely delicious! This was much more than just a cooking class – it felt like spending a wonderful evening with friends and family. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Fes. We stayed at Dar 7 Louyat with Sufyan and Aboud and Miriam. What a great way to experience Fes!! We did the cooking class, starting with a visit to the market to purchase supplies, and ending with one of the best meals we had in Morocco. They arranged a guide for a day in the Medina. Good thing! The 'streets' are so small and twisty that we'd be lost in a heartbeat. In fact, one night we tried to walk back from a restaurant and got lost. Aboud came and rescued us! We might still be wandering around.... Sufyan and our guide, Mohamed, also took us to a great pottery and zellige co-op for shopping, and we made our own zellige art! Sufyan and company are the best hosts you could hope for in Fes. We can't wait to come back and try the various day trips.

It has been an amazing experience! Sufyan and Fatima have been magnificent hosts. We have really enjoyed the activity, both shopping at the market and in the cooking class. We have shared a lot with them and it is a highly recommended activity for families as they have been very attentive to our children. Without a doubt, if one day we return to Fez, we will repeat... in addition to recommending friends or family to travel to Fez. Thank you so much for everything!!!

A beautiful alternative experience to fully experience the local gastronomic culture, Moroccan customs, starting with shopping at the Point of Sale, ending with a delicious lunch. Sufyan is very helpful and welcomed us in the best way, answering all our curiosity. And what about Fatima, an excellent cook who shared her kitchen with us as if we were family, guiding us step by step in every preparation.

This is a wonderful way to experience the local food and culture in a genuine way. Fatima and Sufyan were very friendly and inviting. And it was great just to spend time and share a meal with lovely locals. Also learned a lot about Moroccan cooking and will be making some when I get home. Very highly recommend. This was our favorite experience in Morocco!

This was such a great way to spend the day in Fes. We met Sufyan at the edge of the Medina and shopped for all of our meal’s ingredients, then headed to Dar 7 Louyat - the gorgeous riad where he and his cooking partner, Fatima, hold the class. Both were wonderful, and Fatima is an expert in the kitchen! We really enjoyed the conversation as we learned more about both of them, Fes, and Morocco in general. Sufyan has had many interesting experiences and plans for more, many in service to others. Just an all-around good guy. Our meal was delicious, which we enjoyed on the main area of the open-roof riad. We recommend this experience to anyone!

What an amazing experience to be welcomed into Soufiane’s home for an authentic Moroccan cooking experience. The hospitality, warmth and attention to quality and detail were wonderful! This meal surpassed all expectations! Our 8-year-old exclaimed, 'They even made turnips delicious!' We joined Fatima and Sufyan at the bustling market, immersing ourselves in the vibrant array of ingredients. Spotting his favorite street cat, we shared a bite of our meat before retreating to Sufyan's stunning home. In the kitchen, guided by our hosts, we crafted their signature Friday iftar couscous. As we savored the dish on his picturesque terrace, overlooking Fes, it was clear: this was more than a cooking class; it was a cultural journey. Engaging with Sufyan's way of life, our kids were enthralled, making our time with him a highlight of our Moroccan adventure

Sufyan and Fatima were super nice and I had a great time learning about the Moroccan cuisine and culture. The food was very tasty and I will certainly use the gained knowledge for cooking at home. Its a great way to spend 1/2 day in fes.
