Explore volcano Bromo - start Surabaya // 2 days 1 night

A 10/10 experience both for what we visited and for our guide Didik. We booked the service from Spain and everything went phenomenally. He picked us up at the train station very punctually, took us to the hotel, and the next day we started the tour of the Bromo volcano. At all times Didik was very helpful, worrying about our comfort, taking incredible photos of us, and not in a rush for anything. Once we finished the visit to Bromo, on the way to the station, we stopped to do the Madakaripura waterfall (highly recommended) and Didik quickly arranged our transfer to them by motorcycle and with a local guide to be able to visit them since you cannot access by car. Once again thank you very much Didik, our visit to Bromo and our part of the trip to Indonesia has been even more incredible!

I went on the bromo and ijen tour and had a perfect time. The tour was organised very well from start to finish, Dimass our tour guide was so friendly and made sure we had lots of fun. Would recommend this company!

We had booked the trip from home, and the communication went smoothly and smoothly. However, during our holiday our plans changed and we wanted to undertake the activity 1 day earlier. This was after clear and nice contact with Eki fortunately arranged and we could start this wonderful experience 1 day earlier. And what an experience! We were picked up in the middle of the night by guide Aries and Mr Dodo. After a long but very nice and safe ride we arrived at Bromo. There the adventure continued with a jeep. In this jeep we drove together with 100den other jeeps through the unreal landscape in the dead of night. The agility and knowledge of the driver was very reassuring and we never felt unsafe for a moment but true aventuriers! Arriving at the location we made the walk to the viewpoint after enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. And I must really report that the peace and confidence that Aries transfer made the experience complete. He knew how to find the perfect spot, directions, and explain why. Also the booked hotel was tip top order. Where we were up early again for Ijen to visit. Also an experience to remember. I can't help but recommend this trip to everyone because it's adventure, exciting, relaxation, and discovery in 1!

This tour was so fun! This is a great way to see a lot in Java with little time! Our guide was so nice and all of the excursions were so fun and the views were amazing! Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to hike volcanoes and meet other cool solo travelers! Not to mention, the base hostel was probably the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at!

We took the tour Mt. Bromo and Ijen. The tour was really nice, especially the Bromo. We went on the tour with our driver/tour guide and Dodo , who was both amazing and accomodating. Dodo was really friendly and helpful. His driving skills great, and he always made sure we were comfortable and safe. We highly recommend.

We had a great experience , and our guide Mull was amazing. Great communication and suggestions from his side. We were always picked up on time. Our first day in Bromo was great , but our second day tour in Ijen was phenomenal. You are guided by an actual miner that works there , and our guide Lilik was the best , telling us all his experience. Will recommend the tour again for everyone.

We had a wonderfull trip wat our kind guide Herry! We departed from Malang and the whole trip was perfectly planned. You have to get up early for it but it is 100% worth it. Breathtaking views and an impressive sunrise at the Bromo volcano.

I have mixed feeling but both our guide Didin and the volcano did the job! Ups: - Guide Didin very friendly. Was waiting for us at Surabaya station with some fruits. He gave us informations about Java, bought us some local fruits (coconut, sugar cane, snake fruits, etc) and he could show us the best spots at Bromo volcano. - we had a big van for our family of 4. Since we had a long road between Bromo and Ketapang harbour, we had a lot of space in the van. The kids could sleep after the very early wake up to see Bromo. - the sunrise views on Bromo are just amazing and are totally worth the early wake up. Downs: A little disappointed with the Smartline agency. - I had to remind them of my train tickets that they had to buy from Yogja to Surabaya - They did not inform us that Ijen volcano was closed though we had booked a 3 days/2 nights tour. By chance, I heard from a local guide in Yogja that the Ijen volcano was closed and I was the one contacting Smartline for an update. Luckily, I was able to modify our travel arrangements for the rest of our trip but I think that a travel agency should keep clients informed about such important informations. - The hotel that the agency booked for us was really low standard and badly situated due to a late booking on their side. Initially, they proposed Lava Cafe which is not high standard but right at the entrance of Bromo. Finally, we ended up in Lava hill resort which is at a much lower altitude which means that you need to wake up about 1 hour earlier!

Had a fantastic trip! Coordination in advance was very pleasant and smooth via email. We wanted to start in Surabaya and end in Malang. This was no problem at all. After making the deposit (tip: Revolut or similar app), you still assume that someone will pick you up at your hotel. In our case, this turned out to be Didik. And we couldn't have asked for a better driver/guide! Via whatsapp he already got in touch a day in advance. Didik speaks good English, was always ready for the agreed time, is very social and thanks to him we had a very nice time!

The discovery of the waterfall is fabulous. We were accompanied by a friendly local guide. The hotel has an extraordinary view of the volcanoes and the sea of sand. The 4x4 circuit is worth the detour. We were accompanied during these two days by a attentive driver.
