Karl was an amazing host, booking us last minute to sail with him. We felt so lucky to get out on the Kaldfjord- it felt like we had the whole thing to ourselves. I can't think of a better way to experience nature near Tromso.
Loved the trip with Karl and Trine. We went out with the boat and got to experience the Norwegian sea through fishing, sailing, and observing nature. We were lucky and got to see seals and eagles. Both Karl and Trine made the trip very enjoyable, through interesting conversations, sharing local knowledge, and finally some delicious fish soup, made with freshly caught cod.
Wonderful trip even with mixed weather. Really knowledgeable guide and amazing scenery. Food was lovely and filling. Throughly enjoyed.
We went on a sailing/fishing trip with Karl and it was the absolute highlight of our trip! Karl and Trine did an amazing job at making the trip feel safe, informative and just generally cozy and comfortable. They are both super down to earth, and the tour is limited to only 6 pp max, so it also feels very personal. On our trip specifically, we were two couples, and all of us had the experience of catching cod. The fish was used in a really delicious fish soup for lunch made by Karl. We also took some of it with us home. The views from the trip are also spectacular! Truly a 10/10 experience and we cannot recommend this enough! Minna & Morten (Tak for en fantastisk tur!)
Wow!!! What an outstanding experience. I caught my first fish and we ate it for lunch in a traditional fish soup. A fellow traveler jumped into the sea for a cold plunge with a hot fire waiting for him in the cabin. We took turns learning the basics of sailing and were taught many wonderful bits of history along the day. Beyond all of this, the host Karl is a wonderful, kind man who is doing travelers a service by allowing us to tour with him. My group had such a great and unforgettable time. The bus ride to/from Tromsø is quick and easy. I highly recommend this specific sailing experience while in the area.
Perfect tour. Fantastic nature, good fishing. Karl is the perfect host. He had a huge knowledge about the nature, the local history and is really capable of handling ship and guests at one time
I had the best time and shared great moments with two other fantastic couples on the boat. Karl is a great Captain/ Tour guide who really made the whole experience memorable. Very grateful thank you everyone involved today 🙏🏾❤️
Karl went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional! This sailing tour is engaging from beginning to end and as described has the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The meal was delicious and each part of the experience is well thought out with great intention. Do not hesitate to add this to your Tromsø experience!
We booked this experience and it turned out to be a perfect day for the whole family. Captain Karl welcomed us warmly, set sail on a sleek, comfortable vessel, and guided us through breathtaking Arctic scenery—snow‑capped peaks, rolling fjords, and crystal‑clear waters reflecting the midnight sun. *Highlights* - *Hands‑on fishing*: We caught fresh cod right off the deck, learning proper handling tips from Karl. - *Home‑cooked meal*: He prepared the cod on board—The flavors were simple yet unforgettable. - *Family‑friendly vibe*: Plenty of space for kids to move around safely, and Karl kept the explanations engaging for the little ones. - *Scenic moments*: otters and eagles spotting (minke whales were gliding by too) and a calm stretch where we could just soak in the silence of the Arctic horizon. *What we loved most*: Karl’s professionalism mixed with his genuine passion for the sea and local wildlife. He checked in on us constantly, made sure we were comfortable, and even shared stories about Tromsø’s history and fishing traditions. *Bottom line*: If you’re looking for an intimate, active way to experience Norway’s coastal beauty with kids (or without), this sail with Captain Karl is a must‑do. Highly recommended! 🙌
