This guided walk in the historic center of Barcelona will let you discover more than the usual: buildings & squares you will not encounter easily. Immerse with us into the captivating history of the city while strolling through the maze of little streets in El Born & Gothic Quarter. Enjoy a drink in a magical square where mostly locals go. Learn about important Catalan legends. What’s the significance of the dragon? Why was a bat decisive in a battle? What’s the legend behind the Catalan flag? During this 2.5 hours walk we will make the connection from medieval history & legends to what inspired architects and motivates the independence movement. If you love history brought to life by passionate storytellers and want to enjoy the intimacy of a small group then this is your experience. We will spend about two hours in the medieval neighbourhood of El Born.
Our first major sight during this walking tour.

Here we will explain what El Born actually means .
We walk through a maze of little streets where we will also pass by the Picasso Museum.
The major post office of Barcelona, a magnificent building that we come across.
We will discover the Gothic Quarter where Barcelona was founded more than 2000 years ago.
This square dates back to Roman times and is full of stories.
The heart of Roman Barcelona where we will understand why Barcelona was founded here.
The tour will end at this little square full of history and atmosphere.

We were on Tuesday with Michael in Barcelona. It was impressive, informative and very entertaining. Michael showed us the city from another, very beautiful side. Away from tourist attractions and crowds of people. He showed us beautiful places to stay, with hints of great restaurants, eateries and small cafes. He walked with us through narrow streets with a lot of charm and naturalness and brought the history of the city to life in places such as the Roman city walls. You can find out what the bat is about and why the flag has red stripes on the tour. We found it fantastic and personal. Time passed far too fast. Thank you very much again for this wonderful morning in Barcelona. We will come back. Best regards Annett

The guide was very knowledgeable and had some excellent tips unrelated to the tour as well. I would not recommend this to a family with kids, but the adults in our group enjoyed.

I am a city guide in Munich and booked the tour "Hidden Streets" with my family as an exclusive tour. Christian was our guide and showed us the city. Our multi-generational group of 13 had this private tour with Christian on our first full day in Barcelona. Fabulous way to start the vacation! Highly recommend at the beginning of your visit. My girlfriend and I did this private tour with Michael and had the best time! We got a lot of knowledge about the different sights and sides of Barcelona, not just visiting the most famous places, but gaining a real understanding of what makes the city special and seeing all the little hidden alleys and hearing about the history of the city and how it developed. In addition to that, it was just very interesting to talk to Michael and hear about his life and his history with Barcelona.
