We head to Qorikancha, an ancient Inca temple dedicated to the sun god, Inti. This place is famous for its excellent Inca engineering and impressive stone walls, which were covered with gold. Today, the convent of Santo Domingo stands over the ruins, showing the fusion of Inca and colonial cultures.
A few minutes from the center of Cusco, we will visit Sacsayhuaman, an Inca fortress famous for its huge stones weighing up to 120 tons. This site offers a panoramic view of the city and an impressive display of Inca engineering. Here we will learn about its function as a ceremonial center and defense.
