The tour includes a visit to Europe's largest active volcano: Etna or Mongibello. Going up towards the summit you go through various landscapes. From the highest points, you can enjoy a spectacular view that extends to the island of Malta.
Etna became Unesco heritage in 2013.
You can go up through the road that leads to Rifugio Sapienza (1,923 meters). The refuge houses a well-stocked bar and shopping area. At guests' disposal is also a large panoramic terrace, where you can relax enjoying a splendid view over much of eastern Sicily.
From the Refuge you can take, for a fee, the cable car to reach an altitude of 2500 meters. From there you can visit on foot or continue with off-road vehicles, to reach the crater area, located at 2920 m.
Taormina

Taormina is one of the most famous tourist resorts on the island. Once arrived, the driver will accompany you to Porta Messina, the access point to the pedestrian area of the city.
From here you can visit the historic center of Taormina and the splendid Greek-Roman Theater (entrance with extra payment).
You can stroll along its medieval streets, to admire its breathtaking views and taste its excellent gastronomy. Do not miss the suggestive panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, a delightful meeting place, a famous center of Taormina's social life. All of this is Piazza IX Aprile, the most famous square in Taormina which opens onto the main town street (Corso Umberto), with its many outdoor cafes, religious buildings and historic buildings that frame it.
For shopping enthusiasts, Taormina is the ideal place to buy clothing, souvenirs and works of art.
Isola Bella

At the foot of Taormina, Isola Bella is a small natural jewel, connected to the coast by a thin strip of sand.

Mimmo, tour guide of the year.
Mimmo is the best driver! We had a great time and a great tour with him. Every time I come back to Sicily I'll be requesting Mimmo and I suggest you do too. Oh and Etna and Taormina were fantastic too, highly recommend this tour.

Mt. Etna and Taormina with the Best Guide!
If you have an extra free day in Palermo, you need to do this with Fabrizio! He picked up my family at 8:00 am and drove us to Mt. Etna. It was a long drive(2.5 hours) but we enjoyed every minute of it because Fabrizio taught us a lot about history, current events, architecture, nature and so much more while he drove us to the base of Mt. Etna. It started to rain when we reached the base so we stayed at the souvenir shop/cafe until the rain stopped. We took a lot of photos and videos of the stunning views and the constant rain plus the random lighting! After, Fabrizio drove us to Taormina where we spent 2.5 hours eating a delicious relaxing lunch and shopping at the vibrant shopping scene Taormina is famous for. Fabrizio picked us up where he dropped us off and everyone fell asleep with Fabrizio’s safe and comfortable driving. We all would love to do this again soon! We highly recommend Fabrizio, we voted him as the best guide in Palermo! Thank you Fabrizio!

Beautiful Taormina
We had a great time visiting Mt Etna and Taormina with this tour. The only thing is that we would have preferred more time in Taormina and less in Mt Etna, but it was so because of the decisions we made on the options offered at the site. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun and thought this was worth our time and money, specially being it a private tour for our group. Our driver, Marcello, was wonderful and did everything he could to accommodate our requests.

Mt Etna only
Our driver was cordial and punctual but the published itinerary seems to be impossible as we went up the Mt Etna with cable car plus 4x4 bus. The bus in the mountain was unpredictable. We ended up spending all our time at Mt Etna.

Unfortunately the journey from Palermo to Etna is about 3 hours, to add the journey to Taormina and the return. This is why the time to spend on Etna and in Taormina is about 2 hours for each stop. If the customer wishes to spend more time at one of the two stops, obviously there is no time left for the other stop. Consider that the tour planned in this way has a duration of about 12 hours including the road journey. We are happy that your experience on Etna was fantastic and thank you for the 5 stars.

Definitely try this
Claudio was my guide and he was great. I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful as I navigated around Mt Etna and Taormina. He made sure I got to see and enjoy the coast and stopped for photo ops. I really enjoyed this tour. I had enough time to enjoy each stop.

Etna and Taormina Tour
Plan for a long day but with Claudio it was an extraordinary experience. He was punctual, professional and an excellent driver and very knowledgeable of the entire island of Sicily. We were very pleased with the tour and would highly recommend Claudio.

Taoromina and Mt Etna
Taormina was fabulous and would absolutely go back. Etna was beautiful but I would prefer to spend more time in Taormina. Marcelo our guide was wonderful.
