Essence of Xi'an Terracotta Warriors Tour: Top 3 Things to Do in 1 Day

We travelled to this ancient city as a couple and booked a day tour to experience the highlights of this city. We met with Tina in the morning and travelled to Terracotta Warriors, Qing Emperor Musoleum and the Big Wild Goose Pergoda. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Tina as she was insightful, knowledgeable and patient with our needs. The day was action packed yet at a great pace, we had plenty of breaks and learnt a lot about the Chinese history. Admission fees were reasonable. It's good to go in September as the crowd was smaller due to school holidays ending just a few days ago. Tina's English was also very fluent to help my partner understand everything that was going on. I want to thank her for her time today and making great memories for my partner and I here in Xi'an.

We booked a private tour for 2 people to see the famed Terracotta Warriors with Cindy as our guide. Collected at 8am sharp from our hotel we headed to the archaeological site approximately 1 hour away. Arriving at the site Cindy lead us through the intricacies of the entrance process and used the time to explain in perfect English the history of the find, the historical background that lead to unification under the First Emperor and what we were likely to see and do inside. This is a must see historical site and nothing prepared me for the scale of the place and the enormity of Pit 1 in particular. Nor was I prepared for the huge crowds on what Cindy told us was a relatively quiet day! But don’t be put off, it was well worth the struggle through the teaming throngs. The Warriors are magnificent and the stories behind them intriguing. After seeing all three Pits and the museum we went to a restaurant with Cindy and enjoyed an excellent lunch of local specialities picked by her. The afternoon at the hotsprings was a welcome relaxation from the morning before heading back to our hotel. An excellent tour with a great guide who was informed and informative.

I went to the Terracotta Museum and a few more sights in Xian. Linda was a great guide and explained Xian well to me. We also got local Chinese food, which tasted amazing. I can recommend this for everyone coming to Xian.
