The vermillion-lacquered Shinkyo Bridge is an icon of Nikko. It sits at the entrance to the Nikko mountains and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Most of the shrine complex you see today was rebuilt in 17th century. The shrine contains 55 buildings including 8 national treasures and 34 listed buildings.
rohazaka is a pair of winding roads (ascending and descending) connecting Nikko-city and the mountainous Lake Chuzenji area.
