Guests learn how the town was affected during the Nazi period and how it has confronted and commemorated its past since 1945. The route includes key historic streets, the old town center, and notable landmarks that illustrate Dachau’s long cultural history. We just experienced a vertical formative tour of Dachau memorial site with Sam, who was incredibly knowledgeable. He delivered the information in a sensitive manner and the entire time felt like we were in very capable hands. After the tour of the memorial site, we took a bus into the old village of Dachau and had lunch (not included) at a delicious Greek restaurant. After lunch we walked a bit through the town into the old palace area where there are lovely gardens with a viewpoint of the entire surrounding areas and the Alps in the distance.

Sam was very knowledgeable about Dachau and provided lots of details for the tour. He also gave us some perspective about the current political climate, which was interesting to hear when compared to the climate during WW2. Lunch was great and the walk through the gardens was nice after the tour at Dachau. 10/10 would recommend him and this tour.

Well experience on the history of Munich city and Dachau
Thank you for your review!
Better than expected. Sam was exceptionally prepared. Not only provided a lot of statistical information (which as a history buff) I really appreciated, but helped us understand the how and why of what happened at Dachau during and after the war. I had a former co-worker who was a prisoner at Dachau (Max Steinmetz who wrote a book "Determined To Survive ") so this was insightful and poignant. Sam also went the extra mile after the tour to help us get to our next location Thank you Sam.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We are glad the tour provided meaningful historical context, especially given your personal connection through Max Steinmetz and his story. We will share your kind words with Sam. We hope to see you again!
