Early Bird E-biking through East Kyoto

Description
Perfect for groups and individuals (from 145cm!) looking for a unique perspective on the city, this e-bike tour explores the highlights of south and east Kyoto. We meet bright and early for a short orientation before heading south to enjoy the majestic Fushimi Inari Shrine before the crowds arrive. From here we will catch the splendour of Tofukuji Temple before stopping for a morning coffee. The next part of our journey takes us up the Kamo river and over to the UNESCO listed Ginkakuji Temple. After Ginkakuji, we will roll slowly south down the iconic Path of Philosophy and into the grounds of Nanzenji Temple (complete with traditional gardens, ornate religious buildings and even a red brick aquaduct). After a sit down lunch (provided), the last leg of our journey takes us south along the Shirakawa Canal and through the streets of Gion before returning to base. * Must be 13+ to participate as a rider

With good electric bikes we saw a lot of highlights of Kyoto. Our guide Jay told a lot and was a very pleasant narrator, both for us and for our teenagers! It is a good idea to book this tour at the beginning of your Kyoto trip, as you will also get many tips to spend the next few days and get the most out of your trip.
Awesome experience with family. Jay was terrific. One of the best guides we have ever had. Very knowledgeable and yet was able to keep the kids (teens) entertained too. Would highly recommend this way around Kyoto and ask for Jay !!
A fun bike tour, a great way to see the sights, it was a very small group with made it even better and more personal
We really enjoyed the tour. Karl was a friendly, knowledgeable, and patient guide, and it was fascinating to hear his perspective on Japan through Western eyes. Kyoto is absolutely beautiful.
The highlight of our week in Kyoto! Jay was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. The itinerary was perfect, too.
Sean was a wonderful guide who was very knowledgeable with the area and the history of the sites we visited. Coffee stop was much appreciated and lunch was delicious, overall a wonderful day in Kyoto!
What an amazing day! We loved exploring Kyoto via bike with Jules! Not only did we get to visit several of the major Kyoto shrines, temples and sites, we also really appreciated the perspective that Jules brought to the day. Having lived in Kyoto for many years, he was able to help us get to know the city through the eyes of a local person. Jules is smart, funny, patient and professional. And he took us to great coffee and ramen spots. Great experience and great value with this tour!
Quin was a really nice guide who told us a lot about the places we went to by bike. Also the bikes are very well maintained and suitable for tall people.
This was a fantastic day trip and would absolutely recommend to anyone seeking this type of tour. We had a fantastic time, what a great way to see Kyoto
We thoroughly enjoyed our e-bike tour of Eastern Kyoto with Jay; his connection with the area and the culture made our day an immersive, joyful journey of discovery rather than a narration of facts and figures. The bikes were adjustable pedal assist, perfect for when a hard pedal up a hill in the heat and humidity seems less fun than a bit of boost - it’s vacation after all! Highly recommend this operator and Jay.
