An unforgettable, must-do experience!

We had an amazing day! Our tour guide, David Burns, was excellent!! He was prompt, kept us updated as to timing and was very knowledgable. He went out of his way to ensure that we had the best experience possible. He provided so much insight and stories to make the trip even more memorable. On the way back to our hotel, he even showed us a few extra sights that made us feel truly special. Looking forward to coming back to London and looking David up! Would highly recommend this tour.

A five star experience!

A FIVE STAR WXPERIENCE! David was the quintessential guide to Duxford! He provided pick up and transfer service from Heathrow airport to our London hotel as a most welcomed addition to his services as a guide. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel before and after our trip to Duxford. As a special treat as American tourists, he coordinated a special dinner reservation at the Mayflower restaurant where the pilgrims began their fateful sailing to the new world. Before returning us to our hotel he drove us by the famous sights of London to cap off our Bucket List visit to London and Duxford to experience the WWII support of American air forces. We look forward to using David's tour guide experience for future travel to England!

Great tour of Duxford and the RAF museums

Dave was a great guide. He was prompt on my pickup at the hotel, and did all of the driving, which is very helpful in the London traffic. He's very personable, pointed out where I could find the aircraft I was interested in, and spoke with the museum staff while I looked at the planes to find out what planes were flying when that day. I happened to see three Spitfires fly and land at Duxford, including two that took off in tandem. I also saw the TSR-2 and Vulcan, which are great to see in person and not just in pictures.

Duxford IWM

WOW! What a great day. David picked us up from our hotel and drove us to Duxford IWM in great comfort. A brand new car and so big and comfy. Water bottles were provided for our comfort and the trip was smooth and easy - we weren't the ones driving in London traffic! An absolutely wonderful day, David knew as much about Duxford as any on the IWM volunteers and managed to surprise us with some Spitfire take offs and landings, which does not always happen each day. The enthusiasm and genuine interest of David was matched by my husband as each plane had it's own story. The end of the day had it's own special time too as we went to a 'secret' place David knew off where we had a wonderful dinner overlooking the Thames. The day could not have been more special.

Exceptional Tour

David did an exceptional job taking us around Duxford and sharing his knowledge with us. There were 4 adults and all of us enjoyed the experience (plane enthusiasts and accompanying family members). We also had a family member that needed to rest periodically and David really looked after him. David also arranged dinner for us in a very old tavern. We will look for other tours with David next time we are in London.

Wow factor

Well worth it. Even if you are not an aircraft enthusiast. The fly by and take off of the two iconic fighters was indescribable.

Family adventure and history tour

WWII and history tour was my son's dream since he was very little, and he found out London was the place to go. I promised I would take him when he is older enough to drive. One day my calendar popup-reminder says 'remind mom to take me to (all the museums) and see the tiger tank.' Thanks to David, I was able to gift my son of his dream. Just a few days before our very first trip to London, I was very lucky enough to have found David. He was SUPER helpful in planning our trip (incl. for my daughter, not so interested in the tanks, jets, etc). I ended up booking 3 days of private tour with David to Duxford, Tank museum, Stonehenge, RAF museum and a few lovely 'secret' spots. Memorable trip and family adventure for sure! My son got to see and touch the Tiger Tank, saw Spitfire taking off and landing. To his surprise, he got to see many non-British jets and tanks. Some modified versions that he never knew exist. I would highly recommend David! Our road trip was extremely comfortable. The scenery was breathtaking and so peaceful! David was very attentive, kind, and is knowledgeable about London (where to visit/eat/shop, suggested tours, etc) and all about the history. Thank you so much, David, for everything!

It was a real privilege to be part of such a special trip and to see you all create lasting memories together. Moments like those are just as special for me, especially when guests experience things most London visitors would never find or access on their own. Thank you for trusting me with something so important, and I truly hope we’ll meet again for more memories.

Top tour and top places to go with top person to show you.

I had a wonderful day with David. he picked me up where I was staying as an option for this tour. he was on time and updated me on his stays and things to do. When we got to IWM Duxford he walked me through the most interesting and important planes first and then he left me alone to explore. He is an airplane enthusiast himself which helps appreciate the place more. I cannot recommend him enough. The IWM Duxford and this tour cannot be missed if you are in London. it is a whole day affair since you do have to leave early to avoid traffic and get to how things outside of London looks like on the road.

Brilliant Duxford Air Museum and London Tour

David provided an informative, personalized and fun tour. David was punctual and accounted for our needs. It was unseasonably cold, and David provided gloves and scarves that saved us! David has a well rounded background that provided lively and light conversations. Our main tour was to the Duxford Air Museum, but also included a stop at east side London pub with great atmosphere and an evening tour by car ( it was cold so this was great!) of London to see the sights in the their night lighting.
