Description
What if I told you that you could stroll through Düsseldorf and still miss its most fascinating sides without even realizing it? Many travelers walk along the Rhine, snap photos of the Altstadt, and leave thinking they’ve experienced the city, when in fact, they’ve only seen its surface.
Behind Dusseldorf’s elegant streets lie hidden alleys, timeless courtyards, and local stories that rarely make it into guidebooks. Without the right insight, it’s easy to miss the authentic flavors and the quiet corners where locals actually live. The fear of missing out on what makes Düsseldorf truly special is real.
With your Walking Tour in Dusseldorf, you can leave that worry behind. Your guide tailors the experience to what fascinates you most, leading you through iconic landmarks while revealing the secrets that make this city unlike any other.
You’ll also receive personalized recommendations on where to eat, drink, and explore beyond the obvious, ensuring an experience far from tourist traps.
Prices are per person when two book together; a solo traveller pays $140.
Larger groups pay less per person.
Out at sunset: the 5:30 PM departure is under way when the sun sets, around 6:26 PM in the coming weeks.

Decent enough introduction to Dusseldorf
The guide was very friendly and enthusiastic and seemed like a lovely guy. The tour was a good introduction to Dusseldorf and showed the main sights in the old town. However there were times when stories were told in a vague, slightly confusing way, or left out some important details, or gave some incorrect information or repeated some myths that had clearly not been checked (I can give examples if needed). This is a common problem with walking tours it seems. But another thing was - I paid for the tour through this website, but at the end of the tour the guide asked for tips and implied that this was how he made his salary. I am not sure if other people were doing it as a "free tour" or not, in which case asking for tips is understandable, but if so he should be aware that not everyone should be expected to tip. Of course tipping is always "optional", but the social pressure is there and makes things awkward. This leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth to be honest. Communication should be clearer. But if you can overlook these things its a good intro to the city, you will learn a lot and it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Very informative and interesting
Ricardo was an exceptional guide - very knowledgeable, interesting and also amusing. Really pleased that we did the walking tour as we learnt a lot and saw parts of Dusseldorf that we definitely wouldn’t have seen in the very short time we were there.
Would definitely recommend doing a tour like this and hopefully you will get the pleasure of meeting Ricardo too

Just ok
Our tour guide was a native of Mexico and while he did an ok job giving us some highlights of Dusseldorf, we wondered if a German guide would’ve been better, First, the meet point was listed incorrectly. It stated meet at Bilegal Translations at 42 Neustrasse. We even messaged back about the address because we saw no signage for Bilegal Translations. The shop at this location is a chocolate shop. So that was confusing. Second, Ricardo walks at a moderate pace which was a bit too fast for some in our group. Also, he doesn’t wear a microphone and he talks while walking, so only the person walking right beside or behind him heard him. This is probably our biggest complaint. Of course when he stopped and we could gather around, we could all hear him. We walked through the Alstadt, then over to the coffee tower near the river, past a well known liquor shop, by the historical museum, past some nice hotels and ended at the museums 20 & 21.
We did follow some of his tips and went back later to the museums on our own, so that was nice to have that advice. All in all, I feel you could do a self guided tour and see the same things, but he did provide some specific information we wouldn’t have known otherwise.

Top and fun!
Nice guide Ricardo (Ricky Martin) who told a lot with fun and humor. From the start, a casual atmosphere. He gave a good impression of Düsseldorf and showed beautiful places. We are very satisfied with this guide and with the tour.

Great walking tour
An excellent walking tour of the city. Very informative. Weather was poor which let it all down a bit but not the tour guides fault. He was great!
