Very enjoyable tour with Donal. We went to pubs that only had drinks which made the experience so much more fun All local customers who talked to us as if they knew us for years

The Confession Box is a historic pub on Marlborough Street beside St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral in Dublin. It is best known for its connection to the Irish War of Independence, when Michael Collins and IRA members reportedly used it as a discreet meeting place, blending in with churchgoers nearby. Today, it remains a traditional Dublin pub and a reminder of the city’s revolutionary past.
The Stag’s Head is one of Dublin’s best preserved Victorian pubs, dating from the late 19th century. Located just off Dame Street, it is famous for its ornate carved wood, stained glass and the stag’s head above the bar. A favourite with locals, it reflects Dublin’s rich pub heritage.

Very enjoyable tour with Donal. We went to pubs that only had drinks which made the experience so much more fun All local customers who talked to us as if they knew us for years
Our guide Donal gave us a true “working class” (non-touristy) pub experience. He took us to off-the-beaten-path, local pubs, where we had a chance to meet people and connect with others in our small group of 9. And he even sang Irish ballads to us!
Thank you so much for the fantastic review! Showing people the more local side of Dublin and bringing them into pubs they might never discover on their own is exactly what I want the tour to be about. I’m delighted you enjoyed getting to know the other people in the group too. With a small group, a few good local pubs, plenty of stories and apparently even a song or two, it can quickly feel more like a group of friends out for a few pints than a tour! It was a real pleasure having you along. Thanks again for joining me! All the best, Donal
Had a wonderful time with Donal. We visited several pubs filled with history and stories. Best part was learning how to pour a pint.
Thank you so much for the lovely review! I’m delighted you enjoyed exploring some of Dublin’s historic pubs and hearing the stories behind them. Getting behind the bar and learning to pour your own pint is always a great way to finish off the experience! It was a pleasure having you along and I hope that pint tasted even better knowing you poured it yourself! All the best, Donal
You must do this tour. It is certainly worth more than what is charged. We would not have found those places or neighborhoods otherwise, and Donal is very knowledgable & personable.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I’m delighted you felt the tour was great value and, especially, that I could introduce you to a few pubs and neighbourhoods you might never have come across otherwise. That’s exactly what I want the tour to be about: getting away from the usual tourist trail and experiencing a more local side of Dublin. It was a real pleasure having you along, and thank you for the very kind words about me too. Hopefully we’ll get to share another pint in Dublin someday! All the best, Donal
Fun pub tour with lots of history! Donlan brought us to great pubs all close enough to each other. And I got to pull my own pint of Guinness.

Donal was incredible. Very knowledgeable, great humor, and brought us to the best “off the beaten path” pubs. It was a lot of fun and allowed us to get a more local experience vs getting stuck in the touristy spots.
Thank you so much for the fantastic review! I’m delighted you enjoyed the tour and, most importantly, got to experience a more local side of Dublin. Getting away from the usual tourist spots and into some of the city’s great local pubs is exactly what I want the tour to be about. It was a pleasure having you along, and thanks again for joining me and for the kind words! Donal
Anna was a phenomenal tour guide! Great stories and very informative!!! She was very entertaining and knowledgeable!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour, the stories and the history along the way. It’s always great to know that our guests had an entertaining and informative experience exploring Dublin. Thanks again for joining us!
Donald Gallagher was our tour guide. He asked the couple and myself where we wanted to go. The usual tourist pub, historical pubs or drink with the locals. We opted for the locals. I enjoyed myself for the first time ever on a guided tour. It wasn't rushed at all. We didn't get bogged down with endless historical facts. It was nice and relaxing. It was like hanging out with a good friend for a few pints. On this tour we went to 3 pubs, played a couple of games of pool and got a chance to pour my own pint of Guinness. I had a blast. The locals were so welcoming. I love this tour and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Thank you so much for such a brilliant review! I’m delighted you enjoyed the tour and especially that it felt more like having a few pints with a friend than being on a traditional guided tour. I always try to get a feel for what each group wants from the experience, and I think choosing the local pubs was definitely the right call that day. A few good pubs, a couple of games of pool, chatting with the locals and getting behind the bar to pour your own Guinness is a pretty good way to spend an afternoon in Dublin! It genuinely means a lot to hear that this was the first guided tour you’ve really enjoyed. Thanks again for joining me, and hopefully we’ll get to do it all over again someday. Donal
If you’re truly seeking to be immersed in the culture of downtown Dublin this is the tour for you. This tour gets you away from the overcrowded tourist attractions and to the spots that feel authentically local. The guide also lets the group pick how the tour flows. At the beginning let the guide know what you’d like your tour to mostly feature such as music, history, or local culture and they tailor it to you. This was the best part of our trip and would highly recommend it for anyone.
Thank you so much for such a fantastic review! I’m delighted to hear that the tour was a highlight of your trip to Dublin. One of the things I love most about running these tours is that no two groups are the same, so I always try to tailor the experience around what people are genuinely interested in rather than following the exact same route every day. Whether that means more history, local culture, great pubs or simply seeing where the afternoon takes us, that flexibility is a big part of the experience. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed getting away from the busier tourist areas and experiencing a more local side of Dublin. Thanks again for joining me and for recommending the tour so highly! Donal
We were fortunate enough to be the only two in the tour with Donal. He was so fun. We experienced 4 local pubs while getting a bit of history along the way! It was our first night in Dublin and it was perfect!
Thanks so much for the lovely review! It was a pleasure showing you both around, and having just the two of you made it a really fun and personal tour. I’m delighted we could make your first night in Dublin a memorable one. Four pubs is certainly a good way to start a Dublin trip! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Ireland. Sláinte!
