Dolphin Watching and Cave Tour from Vilamoura

Sadly after booking twice we were cancelled on both occasions! The first I booked directly and it was subsequently cancelled as they couldnt take the boat out they said for the three of us. This was very disappointing as we had arranged the boat trip alongside an evening in Villamoura! They did offer another boat trip on the same day but we could not rearrange by then. We decided to then book through get your guide for the following afternoon similar trip. We took an uber ride down costing around 11 euros each way. We arrived at the location and were instantly told it was cancelled due to weather😡. The gentlemen behind the counter was not hugely sympathetic and offered to rebook for the second time (it turns out same operator) but we are going home so don’t have the chance. We were told just as we got there, I can understand cancelling due to weather but I had now spent out £200 euros plus 22euros taxi and no trip! I am angry that the original booking contract/ we had made with them the previous day had not been fulfilled.

Lovely trip … Angela our guide was a delight ☺️ We had seen the caves before on a previous visit but always worth seeing and hearing about them again. Our captain (Louis? Luigi?) took his time and allowed us plenty of time to see the dolphins on the way back. Thank you! ☺️

יש לי הרגשה 1 STAR – Extremely misleading and unacceptable experience We booked and paid for a tour advertised as “DOLPHIN & CAVES.” What we actually received was a boat ride out to sea to look for dolphins, followed by a return to Vilamoura. We were never taken to the caves at all. Not seeing dolphins is not the problem. Dolphins are wild animals and of course nobody can guarantee that they will appear. We completely understand that. The serious problem is the caves. The tour was sold to us as Dolphin & Caves, yet when we asked why we were not going to the caves, we were basically told that if we wanted to see the caves, we should go somewhere else. That is outrageous. What made the situation even worse was that we were not the only ones complaining. Almost the entire boat was standing there afterwards complaining about the exact same thing. Many people believed they had paid for a dolphin and caves experience and were shocked to discover that the caves were not included in what we were actually taken to see. The staff showed very little concern about the complaints. There was no real attempt to explain properly, solve the problem, offer compensation, or take responsibility for the way the tour had been advertised. In my opinion, calling and selling this experience “Dolphin & Caves” when customers are not actually taken to the caves is extremely misleading and feels like false advertising. Fab trip good amount in the boat 11 people in total. At caves took photos for us, we stayed with the family of dolphins and got lots of photos & videos was amazing to see in there natural environment. Definitely recommend 👍

They canceled our activity and were supposed to offer us another date. Despite our attempts to contact them, we have not heard back and they are not responding regarding the refund. Thieves, stay away.

Tour canceled, no other date or time offered. No response to our messages, emails, etc., which are read by the company. NO REFUND!!! It has been over a week that we have been waiting for a response or a sign of life. They are thieves!! No customer service, nothing!!

Not a good company to deal with! We 1st booked through Get Your Guide for 6 people and not too long after the operator contacted us via Whatsapp stating that not enough people were booked at our time of 5.30pm so it may not run so would we like to come on an earlier one, this was at 1pm. They said they would call at 4pm, but did not and I called them back and they said it would be cancelled and to contact Get your Guide for a refund which could take up to 5 days for the refund or we could rebook (which we couldnt due to some of our party leaving the next day) A few days later we called direct (as they said any issues it would be a direct refund) and booked over the phone and got an email payment link, I called and asked to pay in £ to save on fees and was sent via Whatsapp a payment link for Stripe, which I did, but as my payment processed it came up showing a higher rate of charge than paying in euros and I received bank fees also. I have since contacted them via Whatsapp to explain the issue, to which I have been told that they have not been charged and there is nothing they can do and to contact my bank - they did not get at all that this was their payment option that they gave to me on a link that charged me. I wonder how many others have paid over the odds on fees due to this issue, as they did not accept there were fees, even with me sending them my banking transaction!! And in regards to the tour, it was ok, nice to see the coastline on the way out, and almost inside a cave, but it was just a very long non-stop, far from coast / open water trip on the way back.

I noticed there are quite a few mixed reviews here, so I think a lot depends on the weather conditions and how comfortable you are being out at sea if the water is rough. That said, I can only share our own experience and it was absolutely fantastic. After speaking with Michael in the office, who was extremely professional and helpful in guiding us through the options, my family and I decided to book the Benagil cave and dolphin watching trip. We are so glad we did because it exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed aboard by Joao and the rest of the crew. Joao was friendly, funny and full of energy, making everyone feel at ease straight away. As we cruised along the coastline, he pointed out various landmarks and shared interesting facts and history about the area, all with genuine enthusiasm that made the journey even more enjoyable. When we finally arrived at the Benagil Cave, it was every bit as breathtaking as we had hoped. After taking in the incredible scenery, we headed out to sea in search of dolphins. We were fortunate enough to come across a pod that put on a wonderful display, happily leaping from the water in their natural environment. It was an unforgettable sight. What made the experience even more special was spotting a whale among them. It was truly incredible and we know how lucky we were to witness such a rare moment. The excitement on board was contagious—the crew and passengers alike were thrilled. The entire trip was far beyond anything we could have imagined. Throughout the excursion, the crew demonstrated outstanding professionalism and maintained a strong focus on safety, which made us feel comfortable and secure at all times. This turned out to be one of the best days we have ever had. My son and I were celebrating our birthdays and as passionate animal lovers, seeing dolphins and a whale in the wild made the occasion even more memorable. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this experience so special. We highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to book with them again.
