Dolphin and Seal Catamaran Cruise

It was still quite cool in the morning when we left, but there were enough blankets on board against the cold. Before we had much in hand, the first seal was already on board. The fish provided by the captain were quickly devoured. Seals are everywhere in Walvisbaai but it took a while before we saw 2 dolphins swimming in front of the catamaran. After that, we only saw flamingos and spoonbills. The offered lunch/snacks with champagne made the trip complete. Definitely a recommendation if you don't mind getting up early and braving the cold.

It was not the operator on site that I booked with. It was not a somewhat better catamaran, but a simple small boat. Therefore, the price-performance ratio was not right. Nevertheless, it was a great tour with Pelican Dolphin Cruises.

A nice tour on calm water. Pick-up worked perfectly and the service on board was also very good. Unfortunately, we were not able to see any pelicans.

A great alternative to the large boats. We had already taken several catamaran tours from Walvis Bay, but until then we had always been on large catamarans carrying up to 30 passengers. Crystel’s (highly motorized...) boat can accommodate a maximum of 12 passengers (there were eight of us on our tour), so the interaction was correspondingly personal. Great service from Crystel and her husband Dennis. And even the usual stowaway, a pelican, let itself be carried by the waves. And the usual stowaway (see picture) let itself be carried back to the harbor on the railing from the seal rocs.

Wow, what a great experience. We traveled to the seals on a catamaran and learned a lot about them and other marine life thanks to the knowledgeable guide. At the end of the tour and visit, there was a small but extremely delicious snack with fresh oysters. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. The organization by Desert and Dunes was perfect. We were picked up at the accommodation and accompanied throughout (in a positive sense).

Very nice experience, the crew left nothing to be desired, unfortunately we did not see any dolphins but this is also not the right time for it at the moment. But we had seals and pelicans on the boat, impressive!

I was at first relunctant because it was the smallest vessel among the other vessels going out to the sea. But this made the cruise more intimate with the ability to go to the shore and interact with the seals. We did not see any dolphins but, nonetheless, I had a great time with our skipper, her helper and fellow cruisers. The food, wine, and champagne were also good.

Very friendly crew. Got to see dolphins. Food was good and lovely champagne. Very windy so it was nice to cool off.

If you are in the Walvis Bay/Swapokmund area do not miss this cruise. It is truly a highlight! The staff is wonderful - I think Bernie? was our "guide". He brought a baby seal and pelican onto our boat before we even left the harbor. It was a delight to watch them eating the fish provided. We then saw the seal colonies, dolphins and the crew took us out into the ocean where we were able to experience a whale breaching several times in close proximity. The champagne and food spread was delicious. It is cool out on the water so dress appropriately - you won't want to miss a second!

Great tour - with a bit kl. Boat, so you could be very close to the robes - unforgettable - and gladly again! The oysters and food on board were really good too.
