Denali Primitive Survival - 4hr Easy Hiking & Survival Workshop
Description
This is one of the only fully off-trail activities in Denali, and it's the ONLY survival focused activity offered in the Denali area. It is lead by an expert survivalist guide who has survived off the land for weeks on end. If "Into the Wild" is part of what brought you to Alaska, this is the best way to get an idea of what Chris McCandless's life was really like in the Denali backcountry. Eat the edible plants that he ate and learn the not-so-edible ones he ate that resulted in his demise. OH! And we donate 5% of our net profits to conservation in the areas we guide. That means you're helping Denali by taking this tour!

This experience was unique, educational, and fun. Our guides (Abby and Jade) were the best! Both were extremely knowledgeable about wilderness hiking. My husband and I are experienced hikers but had never really considered how we would think and act in a survival situation - it is a life lesson that extends beyond the mountains. I recommend this activity to anyone who wants to see a different side of Denali. It was a welcome change from the "typical" cruise boat excursion. I was really impressed that Jade and Abby conducted the tour even though only two of us were participating that evening. We will remember this hike forever - one of our top experiences in Alaska.

My son and I thought this was a fun hiking experience. Jade was great and we both learned a lot about the local sub-arctic boreal Alaskan environment. Learning the local flora and fauna gave me enough confidence to venture off trail during the remainder of my stay in the Denali area, which made the trip even more memorable.

So good I had to go with these guys twice! I was lucky enough to go out again with my guide Jade. Jade taught me a new ideology on basic survival skills. Jade allows you to wander along at your own pace and takes the time to ensure you're truly getting the skills he's teaching you. I'm TOTALLY ready to go win "Alone" now. Also enjoyed our lil side quest, hunting for spruce milk caps!
