Delphi and Hosios Loukas Monastery Full Day Private Tour

We booked a full-day tour with JG Athens Tours to Delphi and Hosios Loukas Monastery. John is prompt and efficient in answering our queries and offering us the services. We are also very happy with our driver, Andreas, who is nice and friendly and with excellent driving skills. He allowed us ample time to visit the monastery and the archaeological site, and recommended a good restaurant for our lunch. Despite our tour lasting much longer than expected, John didn't charge us extra, and Andreas maintained his good attitude and service all along. Highly recommend it to those who look for an easy and comfortable way to visit Delphi.

Our driver - Petros - was amazing! He is brilliant and has a command of Athens’ history from 2000 BC through today. He drove us through a tightly woven pattern of traffic on a busy day, delivering us safely to the specific places we wanted to see. For those of you considering an Athens tour I give him my most high recommendation. In fact, having been to Athens many times, I would say doing a tour with anyone else would be disappointing

The driver was on time and drove skillfully through the Athen's morning and late afternoon traffic. He gave an interesting synopsis of the history of the areas that we drove through. Ample time was given to tour the major sights on our own as well as to have a leisurely lunch at an excellent restaurant with a view of the surrounding valley. Booking via online email was simple and payment using a credit card at the end of the tour was effortless. Would highly recommend!

Very comfortable ride. George, our driver, was excellent. He was very caring, supplying us with water bottles regularly in this warm day. He is also extremely knowledgeable of Greek history and culture but engaged us in friendly debate on a host of topics. Both the sites visited are well worth it. Hosios Loukas is a hidden gem that is light on tourist traffic (thankfully) that is very serene and beautiful.

Traveling with a friend and neither of us had been to Greece before so it was important to see as many of the historical sites as possible. What a fantastic day we had visiting the monastery and Delphi. The monastery was not even on our radar at first but am glad we got to visit the monastery. The views were incredible and the ancient mosaic was incredible to see. Our visit to the Delphi archeological site was equally impressive. We had a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant in Delphi with a fabulous view. We were so fortunate to have an incredible driver and guide, George. Little did we know that we would have George for a tours on the next day. George was very kind, friendly, and so incredibly knowledgeable. We really enjoyed spending not one but two days with George. There were only two of us on the tour and our car was a Mercedes E class--super nice and comfortable ride. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Our day started with a drive expertly navigated by our tour guide, George. George was wonderful! What a kind, knowledgeable person. He was also flexible regarding our stops and what we wanted to prioritize in terms of background history and information. We travelled with our two adult sons and everyone agreed that the day in Delphi was the best part of our two-week trip to Greece. We also visited ancient ruins in Athens and hiked Mount Olympus on this trip. On the Delphi museum and monastery trip, you will visit one of the best museums in Greece -- the Delphi Archaeological Museum -- which is operated by the Ministry of Culture. The design of the exhibits is excellent. The ruins of the Temple of Apollo are transcendent as they are nestled beautifully into the mountains. You can feel the history and nerd out on all the details provided in the museum or you can simply hike around the hills. This is definitely a day for walking shoes and layered clothing. We ended the day at a local restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Thank you, George!

We were very happy with JG Athens tours. Our driver Apo navigated the roads well, provided us with excellent information and a video of Delphi in the car. The Loukas Monastery was very interesting and there was a wonderful shop in the grounds. Delphi and the museum were excellent, we had no formal guide there which was our choice. App then took us to an excellent restaurant in the town of Delhi where the menu was extensive, the food excellent and the views beautiful. Post lunch we stopped at the temple of Athena before returning to our Athens hotel. A long but excellent day.

Nikolas was terrific. His enthusiasm for Greece is undiminished even after many years in hospitality and tourism. He takes the route less travelled, with unexpected and enriching stops along the way. Punctual, an excellent driver and warmly welcoming. Excellent day.

George picked us up at our hotel in Athens at 6:30AM because we were keen to visit Delphi early. He is super knowledgeable about Greek history and mythology - the 2.5 hour drive in a very clean, luxurious car was a fantastic preparation for our visit. We had a much better understanding of the site, it's historical meaning and it's position in ancient Greece. He even had a short, informative video on an iPad for us to watch during our drive to Delphi. 'Armed' with the fresh knowledge, we enjoyed Delphi even more. Being in Delphi shortly after the site opens is also highly recommended and we really appreciated the willingness of JG Athens Tours and George to help us get there early. The setting of the site in a gorgeous landscape is equally impressive to it's rich history. We visited Hosios Loukas Monastery after Delphi. Also a most impressive and beautiful location. Again George told us the history of St Loukos and the monastery which helped us appreciate the visit more. We highly recommend JG Athens for it's customized, private day tours and their extensive knowledge of the sites. A most friendly and knowledgeable driver with excellent language skills, a nice, comfortable car - all to organise the day exactly as you prefer.

My friend and I travelled to Hosios Loukas Monastry and Delphi with Tholos. He was an excellent driver with a comfortable air-conditioned Mercedes. He was full of knowledge about the area we passed through and shared alot of information about the history of Greece and the figures of Greek Mythology and their stories. He also toousto see monuments to Greeks murdered by the Nazis. A fascinating day. We employed a guide through this company to take us through the Delphi museum and archaelogical site. Definitely worth doing. Overall a great day. Thanks
