Highly recommend this unique tour!
My husband and I did the Backstreets tour on Oct 4 with Taka as our guide. We had a great time learning more about the “dark side” of Osaka. Even though it was raining we still had an amazing time and learned a lot about Osaka. Taka had great energy and deep knowledge about the history of Japan. It felt like we briefly covered many parts of Japanese culture, specifically Osaka culture, from religion to food to global relations. At the end of the night, we had dinner with the tour at a local bar. The tour was great with accommodating for dietary restrictions. We highly recommend this experience. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Okinii!!!

Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see a different side of Japan.
My husband and I took the Back Streets of Osaka tour. Our guide, Taka was so knowledgeable of Osaka and welcoming to us! Over the course of the tour, it covered about 10 stops. Taka left time for as many questions as we wanted and shared his own thoughts and opinions with us about Japanese culture. I knew a bit about the major topics that were covered in the tour, but to see some of the areas firsthand gave me a deeper understanding. Even though you’re going to some sketchy areas, I never felt unsafe. The tour ended with a dinner of many different dishes to try, and you eat at the counter with the people in your group. They were also accommodating to dietary restrictions, but definitely let them know ahead of time if you have them. One thing to note: I was really impressed with the amount of communication of the tour company. They gave a friendly reminder email and communicated about a meeting spot. They also reached out over WhatsApp to confirm and gave a helpful hint on bringing rain gear, as Osaka was expecting a lot of rain that evening. Overall, the value of the experience was high and would greatly recommend to anyone.

Walking tour
I happy to have Bryan as my tour guide tonight. He knows the area very well both about history and geography. It’s interesting to get to know both good and bad neighborhoods during the tour. At the end of the tour, Bryan also showed us the way back to the hotel, that is very nice of him .

Osaka's underbelly tour
Very breezy walk around Osaka's backstreets, including the roughest neighborhood in Japan - which means perfectly safe. Tour was conducted by the knowledgeable and friendly tour guide Brian, and I would definitely recommend for a different look at Osaka
