Lake Sevan is a freshwater lake of the Armenian Highland, the largest lake in the Caucasus. Visit to Sevanavank - monastery on the northwest coast of Lake Sevan. The monastery is located on the Sevan peninsula, which was previously a small island. We will continue our way to Tavush region of Armenia - the small resort town of Dilijan. The next stop is Haghartsin Monastery, which was built in the X-XIII centuries, mostly under the auspices of the Bagratuni dynasty. We will also visit Goshavank - a monastery complex of the XII-XIII centuries in the village of Gosh in Armenia. Goshavank is a cultural, educational and religious center of medieval Armenia. The sources are referred to as seminary, university, etc. Return to Yerevan.
From the operator’s live schedule on Viator, checked Oct 13.
Lake Sevan is the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region. It is one of the largest freshwater high-altitude (alpine) lakes in Eurasia. The lake is situated in Gegharkunik Province, at an altitude of 1,900 m.
According to an inscription in one of the churches, the monastery of Sevanavank was founded in 874 by Princess Mariam, the daughter of Ashot I (who became a king a decade later). The two churches of the complex, Surp Arakelots meaning the "Holy Apostles" and Surp Astvatsatsin meaning the "Holy Mother of God", are both cruciform plan structures with octagonal tambours. Both are quite similar in appearance. Adjacent are the ruins of a gavit whose roof was originally supported by six wooden columns. Some of the remains of the gavit and its columns can be seen in the Yerevan Museum of History.
Haghartsin is a 13th-century monastery located near the town of Dilijan in the Tavush Province of Armenia. It was built between the 10th and 13th centuries, much of it under the patronage of the Bagratuni Dynasty.

Dear customer! To be more specific, please indicate the name of the tour company whose services you used and were dissatisfied because Armenia Experience did not organize your excursion. Thank you in advance.
It is said by the locals that if Sevan Dries up ever, the country will be dead in 40 days. Lake Sevan is not only the lifeline of the Armenians, but it is also by far the most beautiful place I have seen. For the monastery, one has the climb 200 odd stairs but it's worth the climb as once you are on the top the view is mesmerizing.
Thank you for your kind words. Lake Sevan is one of the largest high mountain lakes in the world and it is truly the richness and pride of Armenia's nature․ Hope to see you in Armenia again.
