Excellent private guide in Shanghai We spent one full day sightseeing in Shanghai with Shiyu, and it was one of the best experiences of our trip to China. We visited three different places in China, and Shanghai became our favourite — largely thanks to her. Shiyu was professional, warm and very helpful throughout the day. She organized everything well, helped us use public transport, supported us with communication, and adjusted the pace so the day felt smooth and enjoyable, not rushed. What made the tour especially valuable was that she did not only show us the main sights. Thanks to Shiyu, we learned a lot about everyday life in China, including education, work, family life and local customs. We also had a very funny and natural exchange about cultural differences between our countries, which made the experience feel personal and authentic. Another highlight was the hot pot lunch she recommended. It was the best culinary experience of our entire visit to China — delicious, local, fun and something we probably would not have chosen so confidently without her help. One more thing we really appreciated was that Shiyu took beautiful photos for us during the tour. With her Huawei smartphone and great eye for composition, the pictures turned out much better than the ones we took with our own phones, and they became a wonderful additional memory from the day. We can highly recommend Shiyu to anyone visiting Shanghai. She made the city easy to understand, enjoyable to explore and much more meaningful for our family.

I booked this tour without really knowing what to expect, but from the moment I confirmed my booking, I knew we were in good hands. Fan contacted me straight away to ask about our trip, what we wanted to see, and what we hoped to get out of the day. She worked her magic and created a bespoke itinerary tailored perfectly to us, even suggesting a few changes that took us away from the typical tourist spots and allowed us to experience the real Shanghai. She knew all the best locations for photos and exactly where to stand to capture some amazing memories that we'll treasure forever. We travelled between locations using Didi, which kept transport costs low, and she introduced us to local restaurants where we were able to try authentic Shanghai cuisine that we would never have found on our own. Fan's local knowledge, attention to detail, and friendly personality made this one of the highlights of our trip. If you're looking for a personalised experience that shows you the real Shanghai rather than just the usual tourist attractions, I couldn't recommend this private bespoke tour highly enough. Best tour experience. Customized and flexible. Shiyu was very understanding when we had to postpone as my husband suddenly became ill. When we resumed a couple of days later, we went according to our pace and needs. Shiyu knew exactly where and when to go and provided suggestions. Highly recommended!

We visited two contrasting ancient water towns on the afternoon and evening that we arrived in Shanghai. Very memorable and Fan took some great photos! We had an absolutely fantastic private tour with Fan, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Shanghai. From the very beginning, communication was excellent. Fan was flexible with the date so we could visit on the day with the best weather, and before the tour he shared lots of helpful advice about Shanghai, including the best viewpoints and times to visit attractions to avoid the crowds. On the day, our t, Fan collected the four of us directly from our hotel, making everything completely stress-free. Our first stop was Jinxi Ancient Water Town, which was much quieter than the more famous towns and exactly what we were hoping for. Fan brought the town to life by explaining its fascinating history and local culture, recommended a lovely coffee stop, and gave us plenty of time to wander the beautiful streets, take photographs, and simply soak up the atmosphere. He also arranged a traditional boat ride, which was a real highlight of the day. We then travelled to Zhujiajiao Ancient Water Town, which was equally beautiful. He timed our visit perfectly so we could experience the magical evening lights reflecting on the canals—a truly unforgettable sight. He also took us to a wonderful local restaurant and helped us choose an amazing selection of delicious dishes that we would never have ordered on our own. Throughout the day he was informative, entertaining, and tailored the tour perfectly to our group's interests rather than rushing us from place to place. One of the biggest bonuses was that Fan is an excellent photographer! He took so many incredible photos of our group throughout the day and kindly shared them with us afterwards. It meant we have wonderful memories of the trip without constantly having to ask strangers to take our pictures. This private tour offered far better value than many of the larger tour companies we looked at, while providing a much more personal and flexible experience. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better guide or organiser. We didn’t use his services to explore Shanghai itself as we had plenty of time to do that at our leisure - if you don’t know where to start with planning a city tour or don’t want to have to use the metro / walk for miles, he’d be a fantastic option.  Thank you, Fan for an unforgettable day. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to experience the ancient water towns in a relaxed, authentic, and memorable way.

Other than the rain our tour with Fan was perfection. He was kind, patient, informative and knew all the best places to take us. Oh he is a wonderful photographer too! We ate some wonderful street food, had dinner at the best Chinese restaurant and topped it off with rice ice cream. Fan took us to two water towns. The first was a very authentic water town, where we spent most of our time. The second was best for the lights at night. Fan also spent a lot of individual time with our daughter teaching her. She loved every minute of it and said it was an experience she will always remember. If you are looking for a tour book with Fan you will not be disappointed!!!

My sister and I had a fantastic experience in Shanghai thanks to our tour guides. It is a father-daughter duo local to Shanghai. After you book, they reach out via Whatsapp to curate a personalized itinerary based on your schedule and interests. They gave us local tips on what to see, how to get around all, and where to shop. They were so helpful we decided to book two days with them: one day with the daughter in the city and one day with the father in the water towns. They know all the best spots to take pictures, and the photos were incredible. They also made great recommendations for other things we could do on our own afterwards.
