We took a private tour to the water city of Zhujiajiao. They picked us up at the hotel in a comfortable vehicle and dropped us off anywhere in the city 5 hours later. Our guide was Maisie, a very energetic young woman fluent in English, with good knowledge of Zhujiajiao, Shanghai, and Chinese history. We went in the morning on a weekday. Zhujiajiao was calm and bucolic. There are a huge number of shops selling food, gifts, souvenirs, and handicrafts. The Kezhi Garden is very beautiful and the boat trip was pleasant. We recommend it for escaping the frenzy of Shanghai.
Lovely area . Very picturesque. We could not take the boat tour because the area was experiencing flooding but our guide made up for it by walking us thru the charming town
From beginning to end, the company is great. Communication from the moment you book until the tour is complete. They pick you up in a very nice and comfortable car and point out cool information along the way. The organization and planning was multi-level. The location was a great choice and the boat was an awesome cherry on top. I recommend doing the dinner option, the food was very tasty. I had a great time doing this as a solo adventure but I am sure with loved ones, you will have a blast!!
We enjoyed our tour with Yun. She was wonderful and very informative. Our van was clean, luxurious and very comfortable. We appreciate the driver leaving the AC on the whole time during our tour because we had brought our own lunch and left it in the car. My whole family and I learned so much about the culture, land and people of Shanghai. Such a rich culture with beauty and wisdom. Thank you so much.
We would highly recommend this experience for anyone wanting to do the water village. Yun (our guide) was hugely knowledgable not o ly on the things associated with this specific tour, but with all thw questions my wife and I had about Shanghai and China in general. Yup also provided recommendations for the rest of our stay in Shanghai along with some great shopping tips and connections.
A fantastic day exploring the water town. Could not have asked for a more insightful tour guide that answered so many questions. Definitely worth doing to experience the non-big city China experience!

We had a great tour with Michael who was friendly and enthusiastic. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the region and engaged the children very well. His English was extremely good which was much appreciated especially with children who might struggle with accented English. The communication about timings and arrangements were clear.
