I love San Francisco and have spent 20 years studying and exploring the city. I’ll work with you to plan your tour so you can see the famous sites and the hidden gems other tours can't go to or don't know about. I’ve designed this to be the type of tour I would take if I visited San Francisco, but where you go is up to you. I make suggestions along the way, but how long you spend at any site is up to you. You're never rushed, and never have to wait for other people. It's all about you!

Call it Postcard Row, the Painted Ladies, or the Full House houses, everyone loves seeing this site in person. And if you want to get out and take a picture, you can. As with all locations, if you want to get out is up to you.

Drive through this former Army base turned national park. Stop and see the Yoda statue if you want.

Learn the history and culture of this neighborhood that is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

If the time is right and there isn't too much traffic (usually weekend and holiday afternoons) we drive down the famous crooked st. If we can't drive down, we can at least drive by, and get out for photos if you want to.

Rare experience

Actually, you have only one life to live, so don’t waste time. Really enjoyed my tour with Reed, a writer, history buff, lifelong Northern Californian, and fan of San Francisco. Native San Franciscan takes the tour and is WOW-ed !
I am a native of SF - lived there for 25+ years and came back to visit with a friend. It was so great to book the tour with Reed. He is fun, knowledgeable and it was a great bonus to leave the driving to someone else who knows the ins and outs of a City which has become more difficult to navigate. Have actually booked his tour TWICE, 6 months apart, with different friends, hitting his suggested City highlights and adding some custom stops. Definitely worth the money and I would highly recommend it. Also, I am 5’8 and sat in the back of the Cooper both times & was totally comfortable. This custom private tour is the way to go!

Fantastic car, fantastic tour
If you're looking for an extra special adventure whilst in San Francisco, I can highly recommend a tour with Reed.
Great communication from the moment we messaged and the info you receive in return is excellent, plus there's no pressure to book - Reed is simply passionate about this wonderful city.
We opted for just a two hour tour, partly because of budget but mainly because having toured around a little since arriving from the UK, we didn't want our daughter to be sat in a car for too long...but what a car to ride around in!

Great trip
Reid is an excellent Guide and we had a 2 hour tour of the city which allowed us to get a great overview of where we wanted to explore further. It was good fun and we were able to visit where tour buses don’t.

I highly recommend this tour company! Reed is a very enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable tour guide. He is VERY funny (imagine Martin Short giving a tour), but also knows a great deal of the history of San Francisco and the surrounding areas. I will note that I am a fifth generation native of San Francisco; my wife and I took this tour on something of a lark. Honestly, I thought I knew everything about the city, but I learned things I never knew about. Reed will customize your tour to your wants. For us, we wanted to see the lesser known sights of the city and were surprised to see so many, and learn how they came to be. You will absolutely love this tour. Please note “Small Car Big Time Tours” is the perfect name for the company. The car is a Mini Cooper, so the number in your party is limited, and if you are very tall or long of limb, you may be sitting front and back with your tour mates and may feel the close quarters by the end of your tour, but hey, it’s right there in the title!
Reed is a wonderful guide and a terrific human being. Don’t wait for out of town guests, you’ll have a blast.

Perfect!
