Cusco Rainbow Mountain by ATVs 01 Day
Description
This is a great and original way to visit Rainbow Mountain. This is a tour, full of adventure that mixed the adventure by ATVs in the south of Cusco with the trek to Rainbow Mountain. With this tour you dont need to walk too long fo visit Vinincunca Mountain. You will use ATVs on the route to go to Vinincunca, then you will do a short trek to Rainbow Mountain.

We will pick you up early 04:30 am from your hotel in Cusco and we will go by tourist transportation to the South Valley. The trip takes about 3.5 hours to reach the town of Pitumarca and then Japura, where we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast to recharge the batteries. Then we’ll start the activity by ATVs, the tour guide will give you all the instructions and recomendations, it is aproximately 6 km by ATVs, after that were are going to start a trek of 40 minutes aproximately. You will be amazed immediately by the beauty scenic, flora and fauna with herds of alpacas and llamas and you’ll have incredible views of the Ausangate Mountain. Our walk will go through typical villages where we can interact with local people. Then we’ll finally arrive to our destination, what we came to see!!! ... Vinincunca or "Mountain of seven colors" (5,020 m / 16,466 ft). On the top we can appreciate the beautiful and magical mountain rainbow Area, as well as the Ausangate one of the most revered mountains in the region, here you will have time to explore the area and take pictures. Later we will return the walk downhill to the village of Qosqopata, where you will take the ATVs to go back to the town of Japura where you’ll recharge energy with a delicious lunch. Finally we’ll return to Cusco by transportation. Arrival time 04:30 to 5:00 pm. approximately. The lowest elevation: 4,326 m / 14,189 ft The highest elevation: 5,020 m / 16,466 ft Approximate walking time: 1 to 1.5 hours

1. Poor communication. Seemed like the operation team shared different phone numbers and it was difficult to reach for an answer. When i have asked for the more detailed schedule several times, i have still not yet received it. (Even upon completion of the trip) While the other travel agent would tell me directly 1 day before about our trip and the arrangement, the answer i could get from was super limited. Their management was poor too. When i asked for the pick up time, they thought i was not having the booking another day. Until i have asked for several times, they answered me they would let me know later in the afternoon around 5. 2. According to the brochure they provided, we should arrived cusco at 5pm instead of 3pm. Shortening so much time we could enjoy ourselves on rainbow mountain. We only had less than 45 mins after we took atv to there. What’s the hurry? 3. The guide that served us was from ANDINA travel. I dun know if they have re-directed us to another agency without any notice. To conclude, i would never join any tours organised by them again and it was such an poor experience.
The experience at the Rainbow Mountains was magnificent. Our Guide Sandro was amazing! Super recommended.
