I loved our samba class. Our guide was excellent I feel I managed to learn both basic and special moves in samba and the experience was great!!

I really liked the class and the instructor. I also appreciated hearing about the history of Samba. The class was designed for beginners. I needed a bit more challenging class as a dancer. I also wanted the energy of others while in class. The cost was also 3 times more than a local 2 hour class with live drumming that I took later in the week at FUNCEB.
We’re glad you liked the instructor and learning about samba’s history! There are social projects in Salvador dedicated to making culture ACCESSIBLE TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. These programs serve an important purpose for LOCALS and are NOT DESIGNED AS COURSES FOR TOURISTS. Comparing them to our school isn’t accurate because the purpose, structure, and target audience are completely different. We ask that these community spaces be RESPECTED for what they are, not promoted simply as a 'cheaper option' without understanding their mission. We are a foreigner-friendly school and our classes are designed to make sure international visitors have an amazing, safe experience. Classes can be taught in English, with professional infrastructure, a clean and welcoming environment, dedicated customer care, and souvenirs for our students. About class level: samba has its own unique technique and foundation. Even dancers with experience in other styles ARE BEGINNERS in samba if they haven’t trained in it specifically, which is why our beginner class is the right place to start. For students who already have samba training, we’re happy to arrange advanced options!
Fun class. You will get a workout. It helps if you already have some movement, flexibility, and good knees. The instructor was amazing, and it helped that there was a male instructor available for the guys. Enjoyable. Just pair this up with your tour of the area instead of going back to the hotel.

My parter and I had such a great time at this samba class! The teacher was absolutely fantastic — super knowledgeable, patient, and full of positive energy. She made the class fun, accessible, and meaningful by breaking down the steps clearly and sharing the cultural roots of samba. By the end, we felt more confident, connected, and inspired. Excelent class!! We were taught the history of Samba, and the basic moves, with some advanced progressions if we were feeling brave. Yasmin speaks great english so communication was very easy!! Definitely worth it if you're visiting Salvador.
