My husband and I got mixed into the French speaking group. One of the guides called out and the guide had to explain everything in English and French. The tour was not scary as described in the description and was just a walking tour. The time dedicated to the Capcuhin Crypt was only 30 minutes which is not enough time to listen to the audio and see everything. Also, the space in the Crypt is small and the day we went it was very crowded. My husband and I had to rush through to meet our group. The tour does not included admission to the Patheon and Fountain or Trevi. The guide was trying her best managing two tour groups and providing the history of the places we visited. However, the price of what you pay for the tour is not worth it.
Highly recommend this tour! For my birthday I was looking for a different type of tour that focused more on the dark tales or myths associated with monuments, people, and places. This tour was the perfect balance of real history and all the dark lore! Shout out to our tour guide Sophia who went above and beyond!! She was very knowledgeable and kept it fun. She even showed us an extra spot at the end of tour which ended up being one of my favorites. 10/10!!
More a crypt and architecture tour but still great and informative! Our tour guide was very sweet and went out of her way to show us around.
My last visit to Rome with my wife was around 2007-ish, and back then we only did the Vatican and the Colosseum, and I felt that there could be not much more to do. Was in Rome for my wifes birthday weekend, and with her birthday on the 31st of October (Halloween) I was looking for something to do that was a little spooky and on the "unusual" side. Looking around this tour ticked all the boxes, and had no issue booking it. Our guide for the tour was Estefi, and she was waiting for us when we arrived at the meeting point (and kept us updated on Whatsapp on her location). The first part of the tour you are taken to the near by church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, which is a church of the Capuchin order. Here the guide leaves you for 45 minutes after giving you your tickets, and you can walk through the church museum and then taken into the crypt, which is WOW!!!!! Days after we did this tour, when we did others the guides would ask people what else they had seen, and when I mentioned this, it kind of got a look of disgust on the faces of other tourists, while the guide would come to life and go "wow, you have been there, its really cool isn't it?".... so certainly gave us a chance to see one of the best hidden gems in Rome off the tourist track. After this its a walk through the city, taking in some great sites, but most of all, when we got to the Trevi Fountain, Estefi took us to the best spot to get a photo taken, and we have some amazing photos to look back on. Estefi can be a little slow to get going, but once she does start there is no stopping her and she really brought the city to life for us, and was a great introduction to Rome for us that was away from all the usual stuff you automatically think about when you picture Rome.
Though chillingly morbid, the exhibition was still artistically mesmerizing. Our guide was also an artist, and she blended her knowledge of art with the history of the Capuchin monks.
I had such an awesome time with my tour guide, Sarah, she was super knowledgeable, fun and a really great storyteller! 10000% would recommend!!!
Our guide was fantastic and the crypt was the absolute highlight, online photos don’t do this justice at all. You absolutely must experience this for yourself!
This tour was amazing and the company is sooo awesome. I accidentally forgot to change the date when booking and booked this tour a month before we were going to rome. Viator wasnt able to change it when i notice 24 hours after booking because the tour was within 24 hours. Out of desperation I messaged the company themselves and they agreed to switch the date for me. Our tour guide was amazing she provided not only ghost stories but also general history of rome. She also went out of her way to stop at a church because we wanted to see a painting. Cant say enough good things about the company or our guide
We were very extremely dissatisfied with this tour. Our guide was late and only stayed with us for just over an hour and a half. The crypt tour was dry and didn’t include any information we wouldn’t have learned on our own reading posted signs. The “ghost tour” of the city included no scary facts or any new or unique information and was just a walk past some overly busy tourist attractions, no additional information or spooky info. We were looking forward to giving our kids a unique look into Rome’s dark past and instead we had a guide who spoke very little and didn’t create an engaging tour at all. We did many tours on our trip and this is the only one that fell short. I would not recommend to anyone. Too bad we were looking forward to this one the most after other ghost tours in other cities.
Was meant to go on the tour yesterday, spent €20 on a cab to the meeting point and spent 25 mins waiting for the tour guide, just for them to not turn up. Asked around the other tour guides and they had no clue who this company was, therefore I wouldn’t suggest booking with this company. We had to call up the company to find out what was happening for them to make up a story that our guide had been in a car accident on the way to the meeting location and had to have a full refund as they did not have another tour guide available. Was very disappointed as by the time we got off the phone we were not able to do any other tours.
