Itinerary
Upon arrival at the cruise terminal, you’ll be warmly greeted by your professional team, ready to guide you on an unforgettable journey. Sit back and relax in comfort as you travel through the scenic Peloponnese countryside, passing olive groves, rolling hills, and picturesque villages en route to Ancient Olympia—the legendary birthplace of the Olympic Games.
Step back nearly 3,000 years into the heart of ancient sporting glory. This sacred site hosted the first Olympic Games in 776 BC, and even today, the Olympic Flame is lit here before every modern Games. Wander through the Temple of Zeus, once home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and visit the Temple of Hera, where the Olympic Torch begins its journey. Stroll the ancient gymnasium, athlete training grounds, and the original Olympic stadium—still echoing with the spirit of competition and once again used during the Athens 2004 Olympics. Run on the same track as ancient and modern athletes alike!
Deepen your journey with a visit to one of Greece’s most renowned museums, where the past unfolds with striking clarity. Step into galleries where history comes alive through the exquisite Hermes by Praxiteles, alongside timeless sculptures, precious artifacts, and everyday objects that reveal the rhythm of ancient life. Each display weaves together threads of mythology, athletic tradition, and divine legacy, offering a richer understanding of the world you’ve just walked through among the ruins. It’s the ideal complement to your site visit—adding depth, context, and wonder at every turn.
Enjoy your leisure time in the peaceful village of modern Olympia, home to fewer than 600 residents. Wander its cozy streets lined with local shops, family-run tavernas, and artisan boutiques, where you can savor Greek delicacies or find one-of-a-kind souvenirs to remember your visit.

This was a great tour, our guide Theodora was very informative and interesting and had a degree in archaeology. The meet up and transport to Olympia and back was great and we loved the food samples at store near the Olympic site
I spent the day touring Olympia with Theodora. It was a great trip and super convenient. The bus picked us up right at the port and was very easy to find. We spent the day touring and sightseeing. Theodora is very knowledgeable on archeology as well as the local area. She was a wonderful guide and we enjoyed our day spent there. It was exactly what I hoped for.
Out tour guide was sooo nice and she is so beautiful as well. She did a fantastic job at explaining everything in our tour and was able to explain in spanish for my family that did not understand in english. Thank you soo much!!
I was traveling alone and wanted something easy to join without renting a car or planning transportation myself. This tour turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for. The bus was comfortable, and everything ran according to schedule. Olympia is one of those places that photographs can't fully capture until you're standing there. I enjoyed walking through the ancient stadium and museum while learning more about Greek history. There was enough personal time to explore without feeling left behind. It was a pleasant and well-balanced shore excursion.
Can get very hot while at the site (very little shade). Guide Theodoera was very informative, knowledgeable, & professional.
We had always wanted to visit Olympia, and this cruise excursion made it very convenient. The journey from Katakolon was pleasant, with beautiful scenery along the way. Walking through the ancient ruins was fascinating, especially seeing the original stadium where athletes once competed. The guide shared interesting historical facts without overwhelming the group with too much information. We appreciated the opportunity to explore independently for a while before returning to the bus. The timing was well planned, and we arrived back at the port comfortably before departure. It was one of our favorite days during the cruise.
A group of four of us booked this excursion during our cruise stop, and it worked out really well. The meeting instructions were clear, so we had no trouble finding the departure point. The ride to Olympia was comfortable, and everyone appreciated not having to organize transportation ourselves. The archaeological site is impressive, especially the original Olympic stadium. We took plenty of photos and still had time to browse the museum afterward. The pace never felt hurried, and we made it back to the ship comfortably. Definitely a worthwhile way to spend the day ashore.
Excellent experience. The tour guide, Theodora, was very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day in Olympia!
Our family really enjoyed this excursion because it didn't feel rushed from beginning to end. The transportation was comfortable, and everything was easy to follow from the moment we left the port. Olympia has a peaceful atmosphere that made exploring enjoyable for adults and children alike. We especially liked visiting the ancient stadium and then spending some quiet time inside the museum. Having free time allowed everyone to move at their own pace. The return trip was smooth, and we reached the cruise ship with time to spare. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
My partner and I booked the Cruise-Friendly Olympia Tour from Katakolon Port because we wanted an easy excursion without worrying about getting back to the ship on time. Everything was organized well from the meeting point to the return journey. The drive to Olympia was comfortable, giving us time to enjoy the countryside before reaching the archaeological site. Walking through the ruins while imagining the first Olympic Games was a memorable experience. We also appreciated having enough free time to visit the museum at our own pace instead of feeling rushed. The schedule worked perfectly for cruise passengers, and we returned with plenty of time before boarding. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable day.
