Good communication from tour providers and knowledgeable tour guide. Good directions to meeting points. Tour stayed on advertised schedule.
The guide was so knowledgeable and friendly and also had to deal with an emergency on our trip where someone was unwell. She was fantastic
As per most of the other historical tours you take you need to have a medium level of fitness to ensure you get the most out of the tour. Our guide/host Theodora had plenty of information to explain what we where viewing and answered all questions professionally. The only issue we experienced was the lack of respect shown by some of the tourists in our group towards Theodora. It was clear that they weren't prepared for the conditions of the day.
Very disappointed that the tour was cut short and rushed due to groups turning up late at commencement of tour. We left up to 40mins late and did not have the chance to explore the town as it was in your itinerary. The tour guide should not have allowed late comers onto the bus. We had to wait in the bus too long. I would request a partial refund given the circumstances of not fulfilling our expectations .
We regret to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to address the concerns raised: 1. You booked the tour with a 13:30 departure time, and the tour departed on time. We begin collecting customers at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, in full accordance with the “Meeting and Pickup” section of the product description. Guests who prefer not to wait for fellow cruisers to disembark may arrive closer to the scheduled departure time or consider booking a private tour. 2. The total tour duration was delivered as advertised. Regarding the time spent at each site, the “Additional Information” section of the tour description clearly states: “Please note that the sequence of the tour itinerary and the time spent at each location might be adjusted in response to variables like traffic conditions, crowd sizes, and unforeseen events. However, we will do our best to cover all the destinations mentioned in the itinerary.” Based on these facts, your refund request has been carefully reviewed and respectfully declined by Viator. For future bookings, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the advertised tour description, itinerary, and inclusions rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels!
We had a wonderful experience with Theodora during our visit to Olympia. She was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the archaeological site in a clear, engaging, and informative way. We learned so much throughout the tour, and her passion for the history of Olympia really enhanced the experience. What we appreciated most was her patience and kindness. We were part of a very large group coming from multiple cruise ships, which can be challenging to manage, but she handled everything professionally and made sure everyone could follow along. The audio guide system was excellent and allowed us to hear every explanation clearly, which made a huge difference throughout the tour. There were a few minor logistical issues during the day, but they were related to transportation and not to Theodora. She managed the situation very well, kept everyone informed, and ensured that we arrived on time. In the end, the inconveniences had no impact on our experience. One suggestion for improvement would be regarding the meeting point information. The map link directed us to the archaeological site itself, while the actual meeting point was the bus parking area outside the site. Although this information was included in the written instructions, it could easily create confusion for travelers who are in a hurry and rely primarily on the map location. We believe it would be more helpful if the map pin directed guests to the actual departure point rather than the archaeological site entrance. If we could make one additional recommendation, it would be to keep the tour groups a bit smaller. With so many people from different cruise ships, the group became difficult to manage at times. A smaller group size would make the experience even more enjoyable, personal, and easier to navigate for everyone involved. Overall, Theodora did an outstanding job, and we would absolutely book a tour with her again. Her knowledge, patience, professionalism, and positive attitude made our visit to Olympia both enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended!
It was a fabulous tour! Antonia was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable & provided a tremendous insight into the history of the ancient grounds. Our best tour of Greece so far!
On May 4th at the Corfu cruise port we met our pleasant guide on time. Along the way she gave us the background about the biggest island of Greece, including how she got to the island. It was pleasant conversations for us to know the place we were visiting in a vivid life. The tour was also well organized and completed with our memories. Thank Fay, our guide.
We did this with our kids and it worked out better than expected. The bus ride from Katakolon was comfortable. At Ancient Olympia, there’s a lot of walking and not much shade, so that’s something to keep in mind. The guide kept things simple, which helped the kids stay interested. We also had a short break for snacks. Overall a good family experience.
This tour from Katakolon was straightforward and easy. No major delays, everything ran on schedule. The guide gave clear explanations without going too deep. The site is quite exposed to the sun, so be prepared. It’s not a luxury experience, but it works well. Good value for time.
We visited Ancient Olympia through this tour and the place itself is impressive. It’s the birthplace of the Olympic Games, which is pretty cool. But there were a lot of groups at the same time. The guide did a good job keeping us together. The museum was quieter and easier to enjoy. Worth seeing at least once.
