First time to Jerome Arizona so we decided to try the scavenger hunt. What a great experience. Very fun and quick way to learn about the town and it’s history. I’d recommend it to any new travelers to Jerome Arizona.
You guys were a very fun team! I can confirm the locals are still talking about you!
Biggest waste of time and money. Write a haiku? Make movies? Interview people? Count the steps in Jerome? That’s a scavenger hunt? We opted not to waste our time after 20 minutes. We drove 2 1/2 hours for this disappointing experience.
The Jerome Scavenger Hunt is clearly designed as a lighthearted, playful, and creative game rather than a traditional “checklist” scavenger hunt—and it’s not a good fit for every group. The listing explains that the missions involve being creative with photos and videos, talking to locals, and learning local stories. Guests can always contact me with questions before booking to see if it’s right for them, or cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours in advance under Viator’s policy. When this group balked at the mission list, I offered to get on a call to help them get started, or even craft a revised set of missions to suit their comfort level, and they refused. They chose not to complete even one mission before stopping. When guests decide not to participate in the activity they booked and do not cancel within the allowed window, a refund is not provided.
The scavenger hunt with Tara is a waste of money. You would be better off exploring the stores and historic sights on your own. There are plaques around town that share information about various historical sites, the scavenger hunt just has you take pictures of things and asks you to approach other tourists. You would be better off asking chat gpt for a list of places to find. Do not recommend.
My scavenger hunt is a lot of fun when it is set up correctly. It requires following the initial directions to get in touch on whats app the day before for important pregame info. I reached out twice to this group with no response prior to the game and instead they messaged from the start point. This did not allow the set up, directions, pregame info and communication that sets us up for success. They also passed on a team name and photo to start, which is an important building block. We did go ahead with the game and they did about 13 of the 20 missions so I was hopeful they had fun, which is always my goal. I was sorry to read this review that they did not. Wishing them a happy new year. Thanks for trying my hunt.
My daughter and I wanted to do something out of the ordinary on our visit. This fit the bill. It was a lot of fun. The two hours of searching for items went very fast. You learn some history of the area while at the same time being creative in your search. We did not find everything on the list, but had a great time finding what we found. The hard part was to not be tempted to linger too long in some of the stops as the two hours are done before you know it.
Good tips for future hunters! It does go fast even though 2 hours sounds like a long time at the start.. and yes best to save shopping/eating/long chats till the end of the hunt to make the most of the hunt. Important to show up after hitting rest room, eating, dressing for weather conditions and having fully charged cell phone to make the best use of your two hours.
Phone guided scavenger hunt with unique prompts. Tara provides fun background information that let us get to know Jerome Moore while on the hunt.
This was a fun! Tara was great! We made a last minute decision to drive to Jerome for Father's Day because our family has never been before. I did a search of "what to do in Jerome" and came across this creative tour. Tara set up a fun scavenger hunt challenge and we kept in touch throughout. We got to discover so much that we wouldn't have found in a fun, interactive way. We ended our day with Haunted Hamburgers and milkshakes. 👻 Thanks for a great tour of a fun city.
Great 2 hours of activities that gave us a view into the history of the town. Instructions were on point and we enjoyed the back and forth conversations with the leader
Tara did an INCREDIBLE job building and facilitating our scavenger hunt! As an Arizona native, I was skeptical how much more I could learn about Jerome and was confident I could easily answer all of the clues. Happily, I was wrong! My colleagues were in town from our Pennsylvania office and they have not stopped raving about our team building experience and how much fun we had, all thanks to Tara. Don’t miss your chance to make great memories in the town of Jerome with Tara as your friendly host.
this was a fun way to learn about Jerome’s history. we were skeptical at first, but all of us had a great time meeting Jerome locals as we tried to complete our scavenger hunt list.
I am happy to hear you had fun and made connections with friendly locals which is how my game is designed!
You need to do this! We had so much fun with Tara. Our host was communicative, knowledgable, friendly, and really fun!! Tara has knowledge and was able to tailor the hunt for the perfect balance of challenging and achievable. Our 9 year old loved it! (And she found Ichabod, maybe you can too)
