What a fabulous experience from start to finish! Meeting the horses and cowboys along with such a scenic ride to the cookout - can’t be beat. I have to share that our cowboy Erin was AMAZING!! She taught us so much about the horses, the company, she taught us how to lasso, and most importantly she was so knowledgeable and great to talk to. The cowboy steak dinner was also delicious. Everything was run so smoothly and it was the perfect amount of time. We saw our first bear of the trip from the wagon on the way to dinner. Erin is excellent at her job and made the whole experience so positive. One of the highlights of our trip!
Thank you for such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled that the scenic ride, cookout, lasso lesson, and delicious steak dinner made this one of the highlights of your trip. Spotting your first bear from the wagon must have made the evening even more memorable! Erin will be delighted to know that her knowledge, warmth, and enthusiasm made such a positive impression. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with her and the entire team. We hope to welcome you back for another Banff adventure!
They tell you to come a half hour before the scheduled start time, then they let you stand in the rain while they unload the previous riders. We weren’t allowed to get on the wagon one minute before start time, even when the guides were available and ready. The “trail ride” in the covered wagon was on a paved road. Very slow and quite boring, although the guides had some nice information. At least a third of the guests were kids and they became bored and some were unruly. Chuck wagon dinner was good, but unfortunately cold. There was no presentation or entertainment of any kind during the dinner. Overall kind of lame for the money.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re sorry that waiting in the rain created such an uncomfortable start. The required early arrival allows time for check-in and preparation, but boarding can only begin once the previous group has cleared and the wagon is fully ready. We understand that better shelter or communication would have helped in those conditions. The wagon travels at a relaxed walking pace, and the route includes developed and paved sections. We appreciate your feedback that this was not what you expected and will review how the route is described before booking. We’re glad you enjoyed the guides’ information and the meal itself, but we’re sorry that you were served cold meal. We have shared this with our cookout team. We also understand your disappointment about the lack of entertainment and will review your particular tour, the cowboy games are outside of the area, so we can understand the options were limited when raining. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to improve.
What a fun thing to do in the evening in Banff! We had a wagon ride along the Bow River where we learned about the horses and the area and then had a delicious steak dinner! On our way back to the Stables, we saw three Bears. Very enjoyable! Thank you to Sydney and Arin and our horses, Tony and Luke. Relaxing and fun experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed the horse back ride into and back from the steak dinner. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and enjoyed their time. It was just a little dusty and the dynamic pricing was very steep.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re delighted you enjoyed the horseback ride, steak dinner, and time with our knowledgeable and friendly guides. Dry trail conditions can certainly make the ride dusty, and we understand that higher pricing on selected dates can affect the overall sense of value. We appreciate your honest feedback and are glad the adventure still left you with some wonderful Banff memories. We hope to welcome you back to the trail another time.
It is fantastic. You can imagine how our pioneers travelled. The dinner was great and girls were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed.
We had such a fun time at the Covered Wagon experience! The food was yummy, and the whole experience was a lot of fun. Oliver was awesome, and Erin was so helpful, friendly, and fun to talk to. Everyone made us feel welcome and made the experience even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend it!
Really lovely 3 hours. Erin and Kate were excellent.
Great group of cowboys, food was awesome , ride was fun. Very informative. Good time had by all and easy to take cab to and from .
This was a fabulous adventure, so worth every penny! It was very professionally handled, the guide, Ollie, was amazing, and the food was delicious! I'm a steak snob, and never had a good one on any excursion, but this was fabulous, they even ask how you want it cooked, too! Allison, the chef, has been with them cooking fabulous steaks for 13 years!! I will do it again when I return next time! Please tip these people well! They deserve it for all the hard work they do to give you a great time!!
It was really, really fun and the views were amazing and the staff so accommodating and knowledgeable!
