The guide was super knowledgeable about the history & the buildings. Learned a lot about this period of time in & outside Sofia. Highly recommend this tour.
Tour of some iconic places of the communist era and Stalinist neo-classical architecture, richly commented on by Niki both through explanations about life at the time, the difficult economic transition to the market economy, and his personal experiences. Very complementary to the freesofiatour and accessible to adults and teens!
I really enjoyed this tour. It was well organized and lasted just under 3 hours. Our guide was knowledgeable, polite, and presented the history in an objective and balanced way. I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about Sofia's communist past.
Completely worth it. Exceeds expectations. Recommended for history lovers.
A great experience, Daniel was a knowledgable guide who told a lot of good stories. We did the walking tour before and visited the Red Flat and a couple of museums - all contributed to a good understanding of Sofia. Only negative point id there were almost 30 people on both of our tours - the website sais a max of 9 people.
You get to learn things not written in books or tourist brochures. Very knowledgeable and helpful guide.
Dino was excellent. Knowledgeable and very charming.
We really appreciated our guide Nicolas, his English is very good, he knows his subject perfectly. Seeing the remaining evidence of this communist era is very interesting. It's great.
A great insight to the history of Communist Bulgaria. The guide was very knowledgable and gave personal family accounts as well, which always enhances a tour. Highly recommend!
I did this tour within 4 hours of arriving in Sofia and the information provided is super helpful! Yoan was the tour guide and he was perfectly understandable throughout the entire tour. Topics covered include communism, the decades following World War 2, architecture, people and society, international relations, and culture. I really did learn a lot, and the toilet break at the halfway point is great.
