The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, just east of the Roman Forum. It is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built, and is still the largest standing amphitheatre in the world, despite its age.
The Forum was the centre of day-to-day life in Rome: the site of triumphal processions and elections; the venue for public speeches, criminal trials and gladiatorial matches and the nucleus of commercial affairs.
The Palatine Hill, which relative to the seven hills of Rome is the centremost, is one of the most ancient parts of the city; it has been called "the first nucleus of the Roman Empire".

The Colosseum tour was absolutely magical. Standing inside those ancient walls, you can almost hear the crowd roaring. Every corner has a story and the views are unreal. Special praise to the ticket seller — super helpful and made getting our tickets so easy with zero hassle! 10/10 experience. Rome isn’t Rome without this.

Be very careful with this experience vendor - there is nothing they give you extra and it's falsely advertised. There's no "audio guide" (it's free) and does not include the full experience despite the description indicating that it will (e.g., did not include arena floor). This is basically booking through the website, which even during high season has availability but they try to charge you 3x the price.

This simply sent you your pdf tickets beforehand. The audio guide can be downloaded free inside the colosseum for anyone. You need your ticket before you go - do not turn up and purchase your ticket as the queues are long.

We did a self-guided tour through an app downloaded on our phones. It was great for our expectations. We got a good taste regarding the colosseum and its history. Interesting browsing at he various artifacts on display. Went on to visit the roman forum and palatine hill afterwards.

we quickly received a confirmation of the tickets. the tickets well in advance via whatsapp and mail. Clear explanation and we could immediately join the entrance. We first sat down in the colosseum in a quiet place and then let the audio play on our mobile. afterwards visited the colosseum ourselves. the explanation was clear and also long enough.

Everything went well and easy, except that you need data on your phone to use the app... And the app is not viator's app but the Coloseum app, so everyone who gets in can download the app... But just to visit and be there is worth it
