Colca Canyon Plus

I had a very positive experience of Colca Canyon plus tour organized by Giardino. Our guide Enrique is very experience and well organized, he explained us a lot of things of Colca and local culture. The car/van we had was brand new and very clean. The hotel booked by the agency is very lovely with fantastic colca valley view. The restaurants that agency brought us to has large option of buffet.

Our experience with Giardino Tours operator was excellent, starting from the directions provided before departure, up to the final transfer to Puno. Everything was planned and managed optimally, by our guide Jennifer and the driver Jorge. In particular, we appreciated the guide's preparation and the passion she conveyed to the entire group. The activities are well organized and varied, resulting in an unforgettable experience.

I would like to highlight the high level of service during all trip starting from the reservation ( thanks to Maca who answered to all my questions). Our guide Jeniffer was wonderful ! She gave us a lot of information about Peru, Canyon Colca, people living in this area as well as about animals , herbs and so on. I would mention also the high level of assistance during the trip. Some people from our group didn’t feel themselves very well and Jeniffe noticed it at once and did all that she could do to help these persons. The only remark that won’t impact the overall note it’s short hikings : 2 times per 30 minutes. I would prefer skip some viewpoints stops and make hiking longer. I’m sure that you will attract more persons who love to observe nature by walking. Otherwise, it should be clearly written in description of the tour ( now it’s indicated 1h of hiking ). Anyway we were satisfied of our trip!

I took the 2-day tour to the Colca Canyon together with my husband and our 12 and 10-year-old children, and it has been a truly magnificent experience that we would recommend for a lifetime. We traveled in a minibus with capacity for more passengers, but there were only two other tourists with us, so we enjoyed plenty of space and comfort. The vehicle was impeccable and had air conditioning. During the tour we were able to get to know the interior of Peru better and we were lucky enough to see the 4 species of Andean camelids. We stayed at the Casa Andina hotel, an excellent option that we totally recommend. And without a doubt, one of the most special moments of the trip was seeing the condors fly: it was a beautiful day and we were fortunate to see more than 20 condors flying at once, some very close to us. A truly exciting spectacle. But, above all, I want to highlight in a very special way the exceptional treatment we received throughout the trip from our guide, Johana, and our driver, Guillermo. One of our children felt altitude sickness upon reaching almost 5000 meters at the highest point, and they immediately administered oxygen to him, and he recovered right away. Another member of the family suffers from vertigo, and they knew how to find a way for him to be able to enjoy the whole experience just the same without any problem. Their professionalism, human warmth, and constant attention made this trip even more special. We are deeply grateful for all their care and dedication. A thousand thanks, Johana and Guillermo, for making this tour an unforgettable memory for the whole family!

We had a great time; Flavia, our guide, gave us very clear explanations. She picked us up at the hotel in the center of Arequipa, and from there we began the excursion with a series of very interesting stops. We saw many alpacas, vicuñas, and other animals of the high plateau. We also saw the shapes taken by rocks worn down by the wind; in the afternoon, with a local guide in Chivay named Claudia, we took a very pleasant hike of about three hours, also with explanations of what we were seeing. The Casa Andina Hotel was fantastic; they gave us two bungalows for the family, and we had dinner at the hotel itself. The next day they took us to the Cruz del Cóndor and we made a few more stops. We saw a bunch of condors and ended the day in Puno where the excursion ended.

First, comunication with the team via whatsapp was really good. Pick-up: they were ahead of schedule! The guide. Maya, was super friendly and made us feel welcomed from start. Both days were astounding. First day going up the mountain (up to 4910m) was amazing, thermal bath was really an experience and hotel was OK though a little tight (one room for 3, myself and 2 grown ups...). We didn't have the time though to do the cooking activity (no explanation on that) but the day was really full so OK. Second day with the condors, astounding. One note: all tour operators will take you for lunch to restaurants in middle of nowhere, so it's not exactly free-time nor do you have ability to go elsewhere. Has the advantage of being fast and relatively decent in terms of food. What you prefer is spending time outside rather than in restaurants so in the end a good solution Overall great experience l.
