3-Day Colca Canyon trek with Professional Guide

Extraordinary and unforgettable experience in the canyon with our great guide Eric! The three-day version really allows you to take your time, the walking days are not too long (between 3 and 4 hours per day) and allow you to enjoy the experience to the fullest. The lodges are rather simple with good meals served at the table. The pool in Sangalle allowed us to recharge our batteries before the climb on the third day up to Cabanaconde. In short, a very beautiful region and a nice trek not to be missed, especially thanks to Eric's explanations. I recommend it!

It was a magical hike in the Colca Canyon! Eric is a fantastic guide! 10/10! He really adds value to this magical hike in the Colca Canyon! Accustomed to total autonomy, and a bit reluctant before the start of the hike, I am ultimately fully satisfied with the experience! If you are hesitating between autonomy or with a guide, I really recommend Eric to you! The landscapes are really worth it and the difficulty level is medium I would say. Prefer doing it in 3 days to have time to enjoy the lodges, as well as to benefit from all of Eric's very complete and interesting explanations. Thank you! I recommend +++ 👌👌

A few overall things we learned on the canyon Trek. 1. Do not try to rent a car and drive as the road is very busy with hairpin turns. 2. The overall distance, for a 3 day hike, is short but the heat and UV exposure are intense. Covering up, sunscreen and hydration are the critical points. 3. The hotels and food in the valley were great. The breakfast(s) at the start and finish were not the best (especially at the end!). 4. If you are trying to figure out whether to do the 2 day or the 3 day Colca option, there is no comparison. Our transport from Arequipa had 20 hikers on it and only the 4 of us did the 3 day. On day 1 we finished at 1PM and were having lunch and a beer at hotel Gloria. At least half of the other 16 hikers wanted to stay at Gloria rather than hike another 4 hours to Sangalle. We relaxed all afternoon and then in the morning were fresh for the 4 hour hike. We arrived at the day 2 resort after a comfortable morning. It is a beautiful oasis with lots of grass and a large pool. We enjoyed a casual afternoon and two meals. The hike up is actually much better than down. It is a 4AM start but it was light by 5. The fact that you are sheltered from the sun makes the morning fly by. A great experience that is well worth the extra day to full enjoy.

Phenomenal experience, lodging, food and guide jersey was exceptional. Three days I found to be the perfect amount. Between walking and spending time at the lodge it gave enough time to really appreciate the canyon’s beauty. Would recommend!

The 3 Day Colca Canyon tour is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the deepest canyons worldwide and with Erik as our guide we had an amazing experience. Erik was super nice and knew a lot about the flora and fauna of the canyon as well as it’s history and the people living in and around it as he himself lives in a town at the beginning of the trek. If you have the chance to book with Erik I can highly recommend him! As for the trip, it was a challenging steep descend on the first day down into the canyon to arrive at a beautiful small village where Lunch and dinner as well as hot showers (during daylight so be fast) are provided. The accommodation here is simple but the private rooms are more than adequate and the view inside the canyon is stunning. The second day is an easy trek through the canyon where we visited local farmers. You arrive for lunch at the oasis where beautiful lodges with swimming pools!!! Provide the perfect place to rest and prepare for the ascend on day three. Day three is the most challenging with an early start at around 4 in the morning during the dark. The hike up the canyon takes anywhere between 2 and 3.5 hours depending on your fitness but is doable with the guides making sure everyone arrives safely at the top. There is also the option to book a mule to carry you up. After that breakfast is provided and a visit to the hot springs to relax your sore muscles (entry not included). I recommend you take enough cash with you to buy water, snacks and drinks along the way. The food was simple but tasty with vegetarian options available. The trek overall is a good mix between challenging and scenic parts and you feel proud of having finished it. The canyon is a unique place that is worth the visit. I strongly recommend you do the three day not the two day trek as it gives you more time to enjoy the landscape. Again I want to stress how nice Erik our Guide was and how it made the experience that much more enjoyable, book with him. Overall an amazing Trek!

Very good experience! Our guide Marcos was really great. He took the time to give us a lot of interesting information about the animals, plants, and life in the canyon. He was also very attentive and let us move at our own pace.

We did the 3-day trekking through the Colca Canyon with Peru Baby Lama. It was an amazing experience! The tour was very well organized and the canyon was incredibly beautiful. We also got to see the Condors from up close. Our guide Nohe was very knowlegdable and could tell us a lot about the plants that grow along the trail. On top of this all, the food was also very fresh and tastefull! I would highly recommend the 3-day trekking, as you hike the same trail as the 2-day trekking, the 3-day trekking is a bit more relaxed and you can actually enjoy some down time and swimming at Sangalle.
