The Almedina Tower was one of the most imposing towers and the main gateway to the medieval wall of the city of Coimbra. Today it is one of the few parts of the wall, along with the door of Barbacã, which still stand, resisting the weather of time.

Here is a medieval square with medieval streets and medieval design houses. On the square we can observe historic buildings such as the "Medieval House", the Romanesque church of Santiago, church of St. Bartholomew or the old Royal Hospital (XVI century).
