Description
Step into Blitz-era London, uncover stories of extraordinary resilience, and see the city as Winston Churchill saw it.
This in-depth walking tour covers iconic Westminster landmarks, reimagined through the lens of wartime London. Learn how Parliament endured bombings and how Churchill played a key role in its survival. Discover the damage to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben, and how Churchill himself narrowly escaped death at Downing Street.
We'll visit the Churchill statue, the little-known church where he married Clementine, and walk through the heart of British power – Whitehall.
After paying respects at the Cenotaph and seeing the cavalry guard, the tour concludes at the Churchill War Rooms. Entry is included, and you’ll explore at your own pace with an audio guide.
Please note: the walking tour lasts 1.5 hours, then you will have time to explore the museum on your own, with a suggested duration of 1.5 hours. Your guide will not accompany you inside the museum.

Pleasantly surprised by this tour
We wanted a good introduction to London on the day of our arrival and this tour did not disappoint. We weren’t even particularly interested in Churchill, but we ended up loving the history. Matt was an excellent guide who seemed genuinely passionate about the topic. And the war rooms were a surprisingly interesting bonus. We only had six people on the tour, which made it very easy to get around and talk to our guide. Highly recommend.
Operator response
As you say, this tour certainly has something for everyone, even if you come to it without a great interest in Churchill or the Blitz. Just seeing all the magnificent buildings and extraordinary history in central London still takes even the most experienced guide's breath away if they have the same love of history and London as Matt and the rest of our guides!

Learned a lot about Churchill.
Matt was great. He was very knowledgeable about the walking part of the tour.. It ended at the Churchill in World War II Westminster war rooms. That is a self guided tour so he left us at the end of the walking tour, which was explained when we booked it. He was right on time. It was truly a spectacular tour and very educational. Singer I’m saving them for you. The crowd size was small. There were only five so you were able to hear everything he was saying.
Operator response
We are thrilled you had such a great experience with Matt! It’s good to hear he was right on time, knowledgeable, and that the small group size made it easy to hear everything clearly throughout the walking tour. Thank you again for choosing us and sharing your kind words, and we hope you’ll join us again soon!

Fun and educational for the whole family!
This tour was packed with Churchill/WWII history and our family of four loved it! I was a little nervous to see if my 11 and 8 year olds would like it, but it was a hit for the whole family! Our guide, Pepe, was amazing. He was so knowledgeable, personable, and gladly answered all of my 8 year old’s questions! :) This tour was just our family and the tour guide which was a nice, intimate experience. The war rooms were cool but we actually enjoyed the walking tour leading up to the war rooms even more.
Operator response
