The driver was friendly and knowledgeable. We skipped some parts because the horse wasn’t fully cooperative. I wasn’t happy about sitting with dogs who were barking at the horse before we got on the ride. Service animals are trained this emotional support animal stuff is annoying and dangerous.
It was nice, horse is so friendly. They pick your route by drawing balls...I didnt care to much for our route but was still a nice time.
It was the guide that made the trip a lot of fun. He was super knowledgeable about the area and funny!! What I didn’t like was my reservation said it begins at 930 but they wouldn’t board until 945. Annoying but not a deal breaker.
The horse trolleys are assigned certain paths according to what colored Ball pops up at the corner overseer. This process is to keep the horse trolleys dispersed evenly throughout Charleston. So, where you might want to see the French Quarter or the color row of houses, you might get the outskirts of town as we did.
Eric was a great tour guide he wasn’t very knowledgeable and very informative I would recommend others to use this horse carriage company.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Downtown Charleston. She was very welcoming and engaging from start to finish. This is a must-travel in Charleston!
Met up & pd in 1 spot but had to walk a few blocks to meet carriage (lack of convenience) If you sit in 3rd or 4th row cannot hear your guide at all, there is no microphone or anything he’s just talking over street noise & such. Only went down streets & passed some houses… I rainbow row…barely saw a park I believe may have been the battery but no history on actual architecture or anything real. Would not recommend this tour at all…maybe a walking tour better if you want real historic sightseeing & time to take pictures in front of different areas.
Caroline did an amazing job of telling the history of the Charleston architecture. We enjoyed her humor and side stories.
High energy staff. Beautiful horses. Loved the flexibility of when to join the tour throughout the day
Wonderful experience ! Our tour guide provided a great amount of detail about the historic homes, gardens, churches, architecture, historic preservation rules & Charleston history from pre-Revolutionary war, War of 1812, Civil war, to today. All staff we encountered were helpful, friendly & seemed to love what they were doing. We passed a lot of other carriages in the historic area. All THE HORSES ! were awesome, beautiful, gentle, and performed magnificently. Linda, Raleigh, NC
