Go beyond a simple walk-and-listen tour. This is a conversational journey where you are encouraged to talk, ask questions, and discuss the layered past, present, and future of Argentina’s capital.
This walking experience decodes the cityscape. We’ll trace the historical roots of contemporary Buenos Aires, using the city itself as our guidebook.
Who were the first inhabitants? Why were the British so intent on invading these shores? What happened to Buenos Aires’ significant African-descendant population? How did Argentina become a nation of immigrants? What is the deal with Evita and Perón? Who were the desaparecidos, and how does their memory shape modern Argentina? Why does the US dollar hold such power over the local economy?
These are not just historical trivia; they are the essential questions that unlock the soul of the city. Join us for a walk where we’ll work together to find the answers. Book your spot now and see Buenos Aires in a way you never have before!

Beautiful Buenos Aires, more lovely every time.
Buenos Aires is a beautiful city; it is fascinating to be able to be so close to the European architecture of the 20s and 30s of the last century just two hours from Santiago. In this regard, it is easy to find extremes of beauty on the same street, with very well-maintained old buildings, and a few blocks away you find improvised and very precarious shantytowns.
It has improved a lot regarding cleanliness; its streets and squares are much cleaner than in previous years.
For a Chilean it is expensive, even more so if you are going to visit the typical and touristy spots, but you eat very well and I will return every time I can.

Be curious - so aptly named.
Fascinating. We've done walking tours in many cities around the world, and this was by far the best.
Nico is an anthropologist and historian, but this never felt like a scripted history lesson. Quite the opposite. From the outset, it felt like a fascinating, free-flowing conversation. As he got to know us, the things we were interested in and the questions we asked, he adapted the tour accordingly.
It was layer upon layer of pertinent information - the history of Buenos Aires and Argentina, its people and communities, its relationships with its neighbours and the wider world, and the stories behind the places we were seeing. Nico is a master storyteller. He doesn’t simply give you facts; he provides the context and the human stories that bring them to life.
The name Be Curious in BA could not be more appropriate. This is a tour for curious people. We finished with much of our curiosity satisfied, but over the hours and days that followed we found ourselves discussing what we had learned and pondering even more questions.
For me, that’s the real measure of a great tour. It doesn’t just show you a city - it changes the way you think about it.
I can’t recommend Nico and Be Curious in BA highly enough.

Excellent tour. Our guide, Nicolas was outstanding and shared a variety of information and history that was unique and helped us better understand Argentinian culture. This was one of the most interesting and informative tours we’ve been on, and we have traveled to many countries. Highly recommend tour with Nicolas.

A must take tour
What a brilliant 3 hours spent with Nicolas. His knowledge was excellent on the history of Buenos Aires, the culture, changes to the city and the heritage. The time flew by as we walked around and he shared key moments in time, the influences of Europe, politics on everything from the streets, housing, even through to change of street corners! Nothing was too much trouble and it felt like a walk with a knowledge friend. Learning about the growth of the city, the language and regional dialect, through to immigration, policies on imports and the massacres that took place. I would highly recommend the tour, you will learn so much more than any usual tour guide.
I have been on this type of tour around the world and Nicolas is one of the best.

Great in-depth tour with historical context
Nico was absolutely fantastic! He tailored his talk to the topics the group wanted to hear about, and thoughtfully answered all of our questions. My husband and I left feeling like we had a deep understanding of Argentina’s history, from political, economic, and social/cultural perspectives. It was a bit longer than shown on viator (3.5-4 hours) but we happily rescheduled our lunch plans to not leave early!
Operator response
Indeed! Sometimes we just lose track of time and let ourselves go with the flow. It was a great group of curious people. Thank you very much for joining us!

Great historical small group tour
Our guide, Nico, is a local anthropologist & offered an interesting and informative small group (only 3 of us) around San Telmo and surrounding area. It was easy to ask questions and he was happy to share his thoughts and experiences being a native of Buenos Aires.
Operator response
We always like to go out with tiny groups because it promotes interaction. Thank you :-)

Excellent walking tour of BAuenos Aires or curious people.
What a great tour. Iaun the tour guide was passionate about his country and Argentine history in general. He was great fun and actively engaged with everybody on the tour. I learned so much about Argentina and got to see some amazing places that you would never discover on your own. First class and I would highly recommend to anybody visiting Buenos Aires who is curious (or just wants to know more about Argentina).
